The Food Was Great! Except Dessert :(
By Raynard, 10/19/09
I ordered an order of buffalo wings and a drink from the bar. The service provided was excellent but, when it came to dessert I ordered a warm apple crip....I took one bite of the garnishment which was a sliced strawberry over whiped cream and it tasted like someone had sliced it with an onion. Can you say YUCK! I will never suggest that dessert for anyone even onion lovers.

WILL COME BACK AGAIN
By OLDERBUTWISER, 5/22/08
LIKED THIS PLACE, THIS IS OUR SECOND TIME TO STAY IN THIS HOTEL. ROOMS ARE OKAY, QUITE SPACIOUS FOR 2-3 PEOPLE. BREAKFAST IS FANTASTIC! ONE OF YOUR BELL HOPS MR. MARIANO (HIS FIRST NAME) WAS VERY HELPFUL. WE BOOKED A ROOM BECAUSE MY HUSBAND HAD SHOULDER SURGERY THAT DAY, TOO FAR FOR US TO BE DRIVING BACK TO STOCKTON AND I COULD NOT DRIVE AT NIGHT. MR. MARIANO OFFERED TO DRIVE FOR US IN CASE WE DECIDED TO HAVE DINNER OUT. KUDOS TO HIM AND HE SHOULD BE AWARDED FOR BEING SUCH A GOOD EMPLOYEE. WE DECIDED TO STAY IN ANYWAY - FOOD WAS GREAT -LOVED THE SPICY SALAD, CORN AND CHICKEN SOUP AND THE DEEP FRIED CALAMARI. BREAKFAST IS EXCELLENT - GOOD COFFEE! WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY WHO PLANS TO STAY A DAY OR TWO IN SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO.

"Green" Hotel......
By Lynn, 3/20/08
Older hotel that has been updated nicely. Warm, inviting woods and colors, only a small refrigerator in rooms, no longer have microwave ovens. Atrium area is lush, peaceful and relaxing to enjoy drinks or dining. Downside is, the hotels (or corporates) energy saving plan that is not conducive to a nice nights stay. My room was cold, could not get the heat to come on. Called Maintenance, he said they have a policy statement at the front desk explaining you turn the heat on to 64*, and the heat "goes on". Regardless if you want the room much warmer, you won't get above about 67*. I had to sleep in multiple layers of clothing and add a blanket to the bed. Not a enjoyable stay for me. Cannot get hot water either. Took two showers during my stay, ran the water for 5 mins. waiting for hot water. Never came. Three sink faucets in the rooms as well, no hot water either. Warm water at best at various times of the day or night. Resorted to hanging the blowdryer on the bathroom door hook & aimining it into the bedroom for warmth...... Pathetic. Hotel that charges higher prices, then "controls" how energy is consumed by guests. Would not pay to stay at this hotel.

Beautiful Hotel, Great Location
By Christi Penner, 12/31/07
You can never go wrong with an Embassy product!!! The manager's reception was a perfect way to wind down after a long day of driving the first day, and a great way to relax after spending the entire day sight seeing in San Fran! There is never anything wrong with free mixed drinks, beer and wine in the evening (think of what you would spend at the bar of a regular hotel for drinks) For a family of 4 the breakfast is equall to a $40-50 bill at any Denny's, IHOP or similar. With that in mind we didn't mind paying just over $100/night for our nights stay. The rooms are very nice - soft beautiful bedding. We traveled with 2 teenagers, so having the hide a bed in the second room was nice, for them to not have to share beds. Beautiful atrium, ponds and plants. Traveling over the holidays meant lots of families with kids, and out of towners for the college bowl game. Kids were using the business center to check emails, myspace, etc, and we addressed it with the manager, and they quickly cleared the kids out of the business center, telling them they need to use the open area computers (for kids).

Under Serious Construction
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/5/07
Liked the customer service, received a $50 reduction and was offered a free night. Customer service is always great at Embassy Suites but for this particular stay it did not outweigh the remodeling. Didn't like the fact this place is under construction and it severely impacts the operation and comfort of the hotel. No fitness room, must go next door and share with the Hampton Inn, extremely crowded. Swimming pool is unsightly do to construction. Breakfast service is severely limited do to the remodel and served out of buffet style platters (it gets cold fast). I would not stay here until remodeling is complete. The internet was the slowest I have ever experienced.

Stayed here on our way to Hawaii
By cheryl, 9/11/04
We stayed here to be close to the SF Airport as we had an early morning flight. Rooms are nice with sitting area and separate bedroom, as most Embassy Suites a nice manager's reception with snacks and drinks offered nightly, and breakfast (cooked to order) is available. Very convenient location to the Airport. Room was clean, staff very helpful and checkin was quick. Atrium very lush, we plan to stay here again anytime we have a flight from SF Airport.
