Maritim Hotel Cologne and conference center on the banks of the Rhine could pass as a small city in itself. The impressive glass-roofed entrance hall feels more like an elegant shopping arcade than a hotel foyer, while the exterior design is reminiscent of a Parisian house. This hotel has an outstading location within short walking distance to great restaurants, bars, Cathedral, and Museums. The trolly and train are close (100 meters). The cleanliness and service is on par with what you get throughout Europe.

Restaurant expensive, but great breakfast.Hard to improve on.Great rooms and location spot on.couldny fault any aspect of this hotel.Wonderful location by the rhine.great location for access to restaurants,bars and shopping.tram service virtually outside the front door as well.10 out of 10.

What I did dislike about it the most was a cleaning lady who was would knock on our door at 7.15 in the morning shouting "household!!!" and open the door with her own keycard just to say "Oh, sorry". She looked very surprised with the fact that we still were in the room wearing about nothing. The same lady kicked us out of the room at 10.30 (instead of 12.00) on the day of departure. So you could be surprised why I'm giving this hotel 4**** after all. Just because everything else was perfect. Special compliment to the breakfast personnel.

Business hotel convenient for tourists

The Maritim is a business hotel (lots of people in suits milling around) that reminds one of a Hilton or Marriott in the U.S. The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to the Dom (cathedral), shops, and restaurants. In fact, we upgraded our room an extra 20 euros to get a dramatic view of the Dom. Check-in was efficient. The rooms are clean and nice, though lacking in details you'd find in a fancier hotel. The breakfast buffet was overwhelming, offering plenty of German and "American-style" food; there was sausage, cheese, muesli, fruit, and much more. Overall, a nice place to stay.
