A MUST STAY HERE MOTEL !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/23/10
I almost didn't stay here because I read a really bad online review about this motel. I don't know how the bad review could have been telling the truth. I looked for everything it had to say that was bad and I couldn't find anything it said to be true. I stayed here from April 26 to May 3, while I visited Corcoran. I'm really glad that I stayed here. I had a wonderful stay!
During my visit, I stayed in a regular room part of the time and in a mini suite part of the time. There were both spotless! Both beds were wonderfully comfortable. I mentioned this to Tina at the front desk and she told me that
all the beds in this motel have pillow tops. I slept great!
The staff was excellent! They met my every request and the housekeepers did a great job of keeping my room spotless, and they are honest.
Both of the rooms that I stayed in were non-smoking rooms and they smelled clean and fresh and were. I've stayed at other motels and hotels whose non-smoking rooms smelled like dirty ashtrays that have been perfumed, but not here! Their non-smoking rooms truly are non-smoking. My body reacts to cigarette smoke and its residue. I didn't have a single problem with those things during my entire stay here. Walking into my room from the outside fresh air was always a pleasure and both rooms smelled just as good as the outdoors. No musty smells either.
The complimentary breakfast every morning was great, as was the coffee. The cold cereal options were brand name cereals and they are kept in special dispenser containers that keep them crispy and fresh. The hot breakfast always included eggs while on alternating days it also included either hash browns or breakfast sausages. There was always an assortment of fresh sweet rolls and bread to toast. Having the complimentary breakfast every morning kept me from having to eat breakfast at a restaurant and this was a savings to my budget.
As for noise, I never heard any of my neighbors make nose and my entire stay was quiet and peaceful. The owner's children, who are teenagers, were quiet, respectful, helpful and thoroughly nice. Everyone made me feel welcome.
Because the water temperature of the pool had not yet reached the minimums required by law for swimming, I wasn't able to go swimming during my stay. Even though the pool was closed, I noticed that the water was crystal clear and the pool was spotless.
Both of the rooms that I stayed in had a color television, a microwave, a refrigerator, a coffee pot and hair dryer. I loved that the countertops in both rooms were real granite. I had everything I needed and great lighting too. So many motel rooms are poorly lit. The lighting here was great! It felt very much like being at home.
The last thing that I want to say about this trip is that I was traveling alone. I usually travel with someone, but this time I was unable to. Being a woman I was concerned about safety issues. As it turned out, not only did I feel safe here, but I also felt very comfortable being here during my entire stay. Even on the nights when I returned to the motel alone, late at night, I felt safe because the outside lighting was bright and I was made to feel like I was staying with people that cared about me and my needs.
I look forward to many more stays at The Budget Inn. I had business at the prison, which was why I came to Corcoran, and the motel is not far from it. It took me less than 15 minutes to get there, even in early morning traffic.
If you haven't stayed here yet, you really need to do yourself a favor and try staying here. I'm so glad that I did. I can't wait till my next visit. Thanks for listening. I hope this review helped you. Susan from San Jose.
