Awesome Hotel!!
I read the review prior to my arrival and I completely DISAGREE with any negative reviews on this site. My stay was superb!! My one year old son was with us and the suite was very suitable for my child. The staff throughout our stay was friendly and prompt. The view from our room was beautiful. Concierge was phenomenal in assisting us in locating an agency to care for our son so that my husband and I could go out for a night on the town. Additionally , Concierge also assisted us with tours and sites to see in Chicago. No problems with our room what so ever. It was immaculate , and was cleaned everyday. Definitely, great place to stay !

Swissotel Chicago and me..just do not get along
By ,
As from my YELP (this is my second review from there which continues to be looooow) Swissotel continues to be a *yawn* As previous posters state, punching in your floor is ridiculous. On the other hand, technology wise it could be helpful in routing ppl to different elevators (but if idiots like to cram into one elevator and leave the others free for me, why change)? In any case, I want to take a nice hot soak and--guess what--they are having water problems... SOOOOO disappointed. Hopefully I don't get bug bitten this time (checked under the sheets). Sadly, due to my company's deal, I think I have to stay here again next year *sigh*...but so far they are batting 1 star.... -------------- Oh boy, it must be my luck...or rather this hotel is just run down. I had to swap room FOUR TIMES. And that's for a Thurs nite-Sunday morning stay. My first room had no hot water so I had to switch rooms. They gave me the key to the 2nd room, which happened to be occupied. Luckily the occupants had their security latch on, so there wasn't any embarrassing moment. My third room was fine for 2 nights but then today (just now) I had to move because of water leakage (above my room and below my room). BOY, talk about an awful hotel (or my just awful luck???? Maybe it's karma since I wrote a bad review last year, and continue to write one...but it's the TRUTH). Oh, also last year may not have been bed bugs. I have checked the room and it looks bug free but I STILL get these itchy patches on my leg. Perhaps it is something in the sheets...or the air/HVAC.... in any case, despite the decent staff, it is a ONE at best (0 for hotel, 1 for the still nice service--since it's not their fault....) All I can say is ...THANK GOODNESS MY COMPANY WON"T HOLD THE CONFERENCE IN CHICAGO NEXT YEAR, or AT LEAST AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!

Not worth the money
By ,
Traveled here with young kids, thought eh room rate was acceptable until I discovered the outrageous parking fees added on per day to my room rate. If you have young children stay elsewhere. There is nothing child friendly about this place. No kids menu no restaurant with kids meals etc. Very disappointed for the money. Would never stay here again. This place will take your money faster than Rosie O' Donell can go through a bag of doritos...

the hotel is beautiful and the service is very good but bend over and grab your ankles if you require parking. ($100 per night you're not told about upfront)

Chicago \"Otel\" could use improvement
Sunday 18 April 2010 I checked-out of this hotel. The room is beautiful, but: The conceirge needs to learn manners -- and - ANSWER the 'phone, I only called twice with NO answer. This location is out of the way, too. I don't like the Surprises of needing to pay for the gym and computer room -- extras! I would NOT recommend.

Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful Experience
By ,
My adult daughter and I really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. With the exception of one very rude conceirge, everything went very well. We arrived well before the check-in time and they let us check-in without extra charge. Our room was comfortable and clean, the view spectacular, the convenience to so many sights and nice places to eat make this an ideal hotel. Be careful, don't open the minibar door; there will be an automatic fee. The front desk folks are very polite and will remove the fee. I only wish there was complimentary hi-fi and limited but free access to the pool and fitness area.
