Hotel Tyrol Soll, SöLL

The Hotel Tyrol was clean and well-presented, in a good location and the food was pretty good overall. Sadly the staff were often unfriendly (I have to say more toward non-German/Austrian guests in general). We had asked if we could just have a main course for ove evening meal as we had plans in the evening and this was not accomodated with "good grace" at all. The light in our bathroom remained broken for the entire stay despite us informing reception just after we arrived. Soll on the whole is very pleasant and quite quiet (we visited in the summer for walking etc rather than skiing) and the walking in the surrounding area quite good. Solitude is easier to find if you head into the Wilder Kaiser or Hartkaiser areas rather than the Hohe Tauern (as hundreds of non-walkers take the gondola up there so you walk to the top to be greeted by hundreds of screaming children, a large bar/restaurant and a group of yodellers)
