DONT stay here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/25/07
had booked to stay here for 1 night in september 2007. my room was very tiny and located right next to the lift and when you lay on the bed not only do you hear the lift everytime it goes up and down but there was no hope of sleeping since the bedhead is attached to the lift wall so it vibrates the bed everytime the lift goes up and down. i tried to sort something out with the young lady at reception with the long wavy black hair but she didn't even try to put me into another room even though not everyone had checked in yet so there was other rooms available. she actually said to me it doesn't matter wheather i stayed that night or not cos i had already pre paid for it before i left home. in the end i didn't stay there i choose to stay at the sandman hotel which was a couple of blocks away, the service here was excellant. DON"T even bother with st regis

stay here!

Although the room was small (euro style) the service and staff were excellent and very helpful! The rooms were very clean and quaint. The location was perfect, only a 5-10 min. walk to gas town, robson street, and cafes (there's a starbuck on street level). For its price this is an excellent hotel!

A Pleasant Surprise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/18/06
We arrived early in the day, well before check-in time of 2 pm. The staff immediately offered to store our luggage and said the rooms would be ready in an hour. We were given a large room with 2 queen-sized beds, 2 (!) televisions and a small fridge. Everywhere was scrupulously clean and bathrobes were provided - which was a nice touch. Breakfast is included in the price and despite the breakfast room being crowded some mornings - the actual continental breakfast was more than adequate. A free daily paper was also available. Location wise the hotel could not be more central. The down side to that is that it is just on the edge of a seedy area best avoided after dark. We had booked 7 nights in the St. Regis and we were hoping that we had made a sensible choice. We couldn't have been more pleased. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a small, friendly establishment with staff that are prepared to go the extra mile for their guests.

Enjoyed our stay!
By Chris, 04/30/06
My husband and I stayed at the St. Regis for about two weeks and found it very comfortable. It has the feel of a small European Hotel, the Lobby was welcoming, the staff friendly and very helpful -- Anson and Juan are the best! We were impressed at the cleanliness and size of the room considering we booked the double bed which was roomy. The washroom was a nice size, very clean and much larger than the ones you get at the large chain hotels. Our stay included a very nice breakfast consisting of delicious homemade muffins, scones and croissants, along with juice and coffee. There is also a Media room to check your email (for a small fee) but free wireless is available to those who have a laptop. The location was excellent, lots of restaurants, central to everything and an easy walk around the corner to the Granville Skytrain. Our room faced the street and was surprisingly quiet for a large city filled with construction. The only downside, which was beyond the Hotel's control, was when the street construction moved directly under our window, the noise was pretty loud (7am-9pm) but fortunately it only happened one day. Maybe a room away from the street would be better for noise sensitive individuals. We really loved the St. Regis and would definitely stay there again!

Great value & great location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/05/04
I've stayed at St Regis 3 times over four years, and I've always been satisfied with their rooms, their service, and their prices. The location is noteworthy as well.

Excedllent service, smallish rooms
By Dave, 03/08/04
Great service, great value, not in the thick of things, but not far either. The rooms are a little small perhaps.
