great location but smelled really bad!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/12/10
Great value and nice staff. Rooms were set up very nice but smelled awful. The wholw place had a musty/moldy smell. I even had to wash the clothes we didn't wear because everything smelled bad. We won't be back. If smell doesn't bother you than you might like it here.

Worst vacation of my life!
By April, 07/08/09
Security was the biggest issue here. The resort was dated, but we knew that going in so that was not an issue. There was a motorcycle gang that has a local chapter in this county and has decided to make this their hot spot. The resort did absolutely nothing to protect the guests. The security is a joke. The amnenities were nice but not worth putting my family at risk of danger. We left 3 days early since the resort would not do anything to protect the guests. We simply asked for the code to be changed to enter the resort and this was not possible. We begged for a security guard and funny how they showed up after the gang had left. We had to call the police even though the resort had said they had called the police. The police did not create a police report even after asking if we wanted to press charges. If you don't mind being threatened by all means make this your vacation spot. It seems to be a great value but my family's lifes are worth more than the savings by staying here. Never again! Never again!

WONDERFUL PLACE/GREAT LOCATION
By Bstarr, 03/26/09
We own 4 weeks at this resort and are going to buy more. I don't know why people are writing bad reviews about Ocean Landing but we have NEVER had a bad experience at Ocean Landing, I don't' have enough time to write all the good things I could say about Ocean Landings.

Depends on where you stay....
By Chet, 08/13/08
I have read many mixed reviews on this resort and it all depends on where you stay at this facility. The location is great only steps from the beach, 2 pool areas make for plenty of room for guest to spread out and relax, pool side snack bar is very convient and reasonable, if you are into tennis or handball great courts, exercise facility is adequate not state of the art but absolutely gets the job done. Now to the units themselves if you are staying in the oceanfront units they are a great value. 1 bedroom has queen bed and queen sleeper sofas, kitchen is fully stocked (I have stayed in Ron Jon's and they didn't have half the supplies Ocean Landings offers), two baths are handy, they supply beach towels daily and room towels are all exchanged daily with a mid week cleaning which again I have stayed at many resorts which do not offer mid week cleaning. If you are looking for modern, new decor you are not going to find it at this resort But I have never had a dirty room or requested something that I was not accomidated with. And the private balcony on these units offers you an amazing view of the ocean. Day and night you will enjoy this beautiful scenery. The off ocean rooms are old motel rooms converted for family economical usage. Great value if you are looking for a reasonable beach front unit that will accomidate a family of 4 at the beach for a week. They are very dated, but they are updating them and those units will soon have full kitchens instead of the little mini kitchen. Bottom line is this is not a 5 star resort but for the money and location you can not beat the value. Most people who have a problem with this resort are trading their high end units and RCI or Internation Exchange are giving them units that are not equal to their traded unit. That is the trading company fault not Ocean Landings. I almost didn't write this review because I love going there and it not being crowded but that would not be fair to those looking for a reasonable family beach vacation spot. They are doing major renovation on the resort (upgrading furn, appl, etc) so it will soon be an even better value for your vacation dollar. I do not work for Ocean Landing this is a private posting just wanted to add a little insight into the facility

Old, dirty and unfriendly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/19/08
The resort is in a great location. However, the experience at this specific resort was more than disappointing due to the following: · The room was impossibly dirty, especially the carpet and upholstery, but also kitchen cabinets (inside and out), inside dresser drawers, hangers across from sinks, corners of rooms, walls, behind and under furniture. It is clear that it has been many years without proper maintenance and cleaning, not to mention renovation. · The air conditioner did not work properly, it worked intermittently and it was clear that it had never been cleaned. The smell and feel of it was confirmed when we looked outside our room at the AC unit. It was full of crud and mold --a real health hazard. We complained and they eventually sent a repair guy who only fixed the heating portion (and this is Florida). · As a result of the unclean room and status of the air conditioning we all got sick --head colds with fever. Our youngest child had developed a severe allergic reaction --hives and swelling. · Cleaning was supposed to take place on Thursday (about halfway through our stay), but they nevershowed up. · The reception staff, specifically the woman at the front desk (Daniel) and the shift manager on Sunday were unbelievably rude. They refused to provide assistance and hung up the phone on both me and my wife. Even though they did not provide adequate customer service, they had the audacity to charge us with a late checkout fee of $113.78 for being less than one hour late (for the official 11 AM checkout time), a delay caused mostly by a line at the towel return desk, which the guests need to do prior to checkout (the first time I have encountered such a procedure).

Great beachfront location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/07
We own 4 weeks oceanfront at Ocean Landings and love every minute there. It,s a nice ''middle class'' resort with everything you need and friendly people. I can't comment on the other rooms but our's ,on the ocean, is exactly what we want. Last year we rented a week to friends ,who had never been to Florida, they loved it and are returing this year.

By MONICA P, 08/15/07
The rooms are old, dirty and smelly, big disappoiment. I think the rooms are due for major updating and the carpets need to be replaced. Poor service, and rude personal.

Best deal on the Beach
By jonstraw, 06/30/07
We own a time share at another location, and this was a property that allowed special rates. Knowing this was a time share resort and not a hotel, we came in with appropriate expectations. Needing to walk a short distance to get clean towels more than made up for the $50/day price. This is not a 4-star resort, nor does it claim to be. If you want to spend $1500+/week, I would recommend the other hotels mentioned. If you are on a budget (we paid $400 for 8 days/7 nights), then you could do far worse. The rooms were clean, and well stocked for our 8 day stay. Since we had an 18 month old with us, the fact that there were two rooms made it wonderful. Put the baby in one room, have an adult beverage in the next. Perfect. If you are expecting to be pampered, try the next resort. If you are looking for a nice room (s) at a great price, then you have found the right place.
