Colorado Cottages, Estes Park

I love love love this place! Carolyn, John and Darma are all wonderful! I love my little visits from Darma (she is their dog). Carolyn and John are so friendly and helpful. The cottages are adorable and very clean! I look forward to my annual trip every fall! I just wish I could stay several more times each year!

This was a wonderful change from the humdrum motels we found ourselves in during much of our trip. Unfortunately, we were only in Estes for one night, but hopefully next time we'll have longer and this is the place to stay. The room was pretty, clean and reasonable, especially given the atmosphere and location. We would definitely stay here again. John and Carolyn were very friendly., and they even send a thank you postcard. I truly hope life finds me in beautiful Estes Park and the Colorado Cottages again!

Amazing place to stay for ANYONE! My new wife an I spent a few days there as a part of our honeymoon and we can't wait to go back. It's perfectly located in the middle of town, and 5 minutes away from rocky mountain national park. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed being a part of their nightly bonfire and smores! There was a great value for the same cost as a hotel room. I highly recommend Colorado Colleges to anyone! You will NOT be disappointed! BTW: it is roughly as expensive as the common hotel. It is a great value for what you get. The kitchens are great, because you can actually cook meals instead of expensively eating out all the time. I cannot emphasize enough how great this place is.

There was nothing to dislike, except that we were on the second floor and the day we did a "big"hike, well, the stairs were not our friend. The place was perfect. Perfect size, perfect location, close to everything. Hot tub was great and the water pressure in the cabin was spectacular. John and Carolyn are the best hosts! Very helpful and their suggestions for things to do, or which activities to choose were spot on! I will "gift" this location to all my kids for honeymoon vacations.

I liked Colorado Cottages because John and Carolyn treated us like family and had a great place to stay. We had a great time in Estes Park. I can't wait to stay there again.

My husband and I had a great plan for camping with all our great cold weather gear....but still mother nature let us know that "our" plan was not going forward. We turned out the park and saw the sign for Colorado Cottages. Well the rest of the story is about the awesome hospitality that we recieved late on a windy cold night. We truly will "find" another good reason to stay at such a "homey" cabin. There were so many comfy touches in our cabin to make us feel at home. Thanks.

We loved eveything about this place, and can't wait to get back. The rates are very affordable, especially for what you get. We were greeted by the very sweet golden retriever dharma, who we wanted to bring home with us. My husband and I only spent one night here, planned on a whim for his birthday and our two yr anniversary. It couldn't have been more perfect. It was very private, gorgeous scenery, immaculate conditions, modern ammenties, and a well stocked kitchenette so we could cook a romantic dinner. The hot tub was so enjoyable, we felt like we rented a private resort. The location was just secluded enough, but close enough to walk to a grocery store or dominos. I could go on and on, John and Carolyn made us feel like old friends. John even delivered our bundles of wood to our front door. We had a romantic fire going all night. We both hated leaving the next morning. It was so relaxing, just perfect. I'd highly recommend this to any family, or couple. They're pet friendly, and if you have kids of any age they'd have plenty of exploring to do. The wildlife literally comes to your front door as well! Can't wait to go back with my daughter!

I have stayed at Colorado Cottages a few times now and have never been disappointed. I'm going back very soon. Carolyn keeps all the cottages spotless (and I'm pretty picky about cleanliness.) She and John always allow you your privacy, but they are always available to answer questions or give suggestions, if you're looking for information or something to do. They focus on their guests, not their profit, which is evident in their hospitality and their care of the cottages and property. Dharma (their Golden Retriever) is a great hostess, as well. She and my dog, Brio (a bichon), have a great time playing together. I can go and relax, catch up on sleep, watch movies (they have several choices in the office to borrow) and crochet. Or I can go hiking or check out the tourist activities, such as the hotel they filmed "The Shining". I love that I can cook in my cottage and not have to go find a restaurant for every meal. There are plenty of kitchen supplies, so all you have to bring is your own food. They even have tea and coffee in the cottages I've stayed in. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area, as well. I also love the fireplace, which they always have a load of wood all ready for you, so you don't have to go out and find wood before you settle in for the evening. The view of the mountains is pretty awesome from some of the cabins, as well. You usually see several elk hanging out at certain times around the property too. There's a a hot tub, that is always clean and "hot" with spare towels, as well as, a playground for children. Sometimes have a campfire time, where you can meet other guests. I've seen some folks with bicycles that have stayed there too. I'm guessing it would be a great place for skiers because of the location and the amenities. I always feel safe and comfortable there. Not on the main drag, but close enough to town, which makes it more appealing to me. I've recommended this place to several folks because I love it so much and because it's so clean, cozy and affordable. The prices are always reasonable and they usually have some specials to make it even more of a value.

The cottages were well kept, all the conveniences of home, I loved the stay and missed it when we were gone. Definately will return in the future. The owners made it feel like home

We have stayed many times in the Indian Paintbrush and the experience is always fantastic. The atmosphere is relaxing and quiet. The owners are extremely friendly and clearly love their cottages as it has always been extremely clean and well kept. Also, if you don't mind a little walking, the downtown/tourist area of Estes Park is an easy downhill walk. I must caution that there aren't always sidewalks, but there is also a small grocery store and restaurants closer to the cabins for the less adventurous. All around, the Cottages are great value for the experience (especially the fireplaces!) and I recommend it to ALL couples, families and singles who want to have a fun and relaxing time in Estes Park.
