Bernadine's Stillman Inn, Galena

My husband and I stayed here for our 5th anniversary for 2 nights. The service is unsurpassed, the food is delicious, and the home is very clean, especially for such and old house. The location is good - it is a long walk to down town Galena, but walking distance nonetheless. It is a little pricey, but for everything they have to offer, it is worth it.

This was my first B&B ever and I was a little concerned. Our host Dave Anderson was absolutely fanatastic. Here made sure that we felt like family. Anything we wanted, he was right there to get it for us. I highly recommend a stay at the Stillman Inn. Dave has set the bar. Amy and Scott

My husband and I stayed at the Stillman because of the high reviews we read online, and they were completely true! It was extremely clean, the rooms and inn were elegant, yet tasteful, the food was good, and all of the extra little perks were great--snacks and drinks whenever you want them, movies, a porch swing, free wireless internet that we used to plan our days each morning, a mini-fridge in our room and a perfect location. Dave and Bernadine are wonderful hosts and so helpful and welcoming--they also allowed us to have as much privacy or time to ourselves as we wanted, which was really nice. We can't wait to go back!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Bernadine's Stillman Inn during a romantic winter excursion to Galena. The house and the room were lovely, the breakfast was excellent, and the innkeepers were great hosts! We also enjoyed the extra perks such as complimentary pie, cookies, and ice cream, and the movie library. Highly recommended.

The mansion was beautiful. The location was perfect, you could walk to the area parks and shopping areas. Dave, the owner, was very hospitable and knowledgable about the area.

My wife and I just celebrated our 5th Anniversary with a weekend getaway at Bernadine's Stillman Inn. We could not have been more pleased! Dave and Bernadine are the perfect hosts. Not only do they make you feel at home from the moment you arrive at their doorstep, but whatever you could possibly want during your entire stay they will gladly help you out. Whether you need something special at the inn, directions, information, local history, or even just opinions on where to go... anything at all... they can help you out. Just ask! The breakfast they serve is wonderful. You start off with a yogurt wither granola. Then you can choose the egg item or syrup item or both. Both is the way to go! Althought I must admit, the "Lovecakes" are excellent! It's all cooked to order and you can have as much as you want. Not too mention they have free cookies & ice cream bars. Anytime you want... just help yourself. You can't beat that! The house and yard are beautiful. You can enjoy your time relaxing in or around the house. Or if you want to head to downtown Galena it's a short walk or drive away. Dave gives you his "personal" map which is quite helpful in making decisions on where to go and what to do. Dave is quite good about introducing people to one another. It helps make the conversations open right up at breakfast time. Because of this we became instant friends with some of the other guests which only added to our wonderful weekend. A few of us couples had so much fun during our stay that we have already booked our rooms again for next year. Basically all you really need to know is this... it doesn't matter if you are a frequent B'n'B visitor or you are looking into staying at one for the very first time, Bernadine's Stillman Inn is the place to go! Trust me, they won't let you down. I can not say enough good things about them!

My husband and I stayed there for 3 nights, and then decided the return just two days later! We cant say enough about Dave, Bernadine and their property and hospitality. They made you feel like family. We were new to the B&B's and they made us so comfortable. We will be coming back for years to come. Everything was just amazing from the food to the rooms and service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We will be returning for years to come! We got married there in the wedding chapel and it was amazing!

My wife and I just stayed at Bernadines Stillman Inn for our honeymoon and it was wonderful. The service we had was service that can never be topped and is hard to explain. The way Dave greeted us as we arrived at the Inn and took his time to explain the different restraunts throught Galena was amazing. He pointed out food most guests enjoy. Bernadines wonderful breakfast can never be topped. The crepes and Lovecakes are amongst some of the most indulging breakfast I have had. I am from the Chicago area and eat out all the time. The Stillman breakfast was top class. I wish the owners had this B&B by my hometown, as I would be eating breakfast every morning with them. Please take the time and give them a call and see how wonderful their hospitality is on the phone, and if its graet(like mine was), you will be sure to have a room booked by the end of the conversation. I look forward to coming back, as Dave hahd said that all his returning guests receive the 10% discount.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon here. We had a beautiful room, very comfortable and romantic. We had dinner at the Spillman the first night and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. It is a short distance from downtown and would make a memorable stay for anyone planning a trip to Galena.
