Lovely evening breezes with views of ocean and mac nut trees

We've stayed there a couple of times now. First as a couple, and 2nd as new parents with our 3.5 month old son. The hotel is simple..no elevator, only pay phone, no air conditioning...but what you get is a simple, straightforward Hawaiian experience. Dinner is served early, I think the kitchen closes at 7:30pm. My husband still craves the pork dish, and I enjoyed many fish dinners, ono, etc. This place is a great bargain, very simple, and peaceful. If you are looking for a clean and inexpensive place to lay your head, shower, and take in a nice view, this is place (or even to stop by for an excellent inexpensive dinner). If you are looking for pampering, room service, spas, and cocktails by the pool, this is NOT the place. The garden is lovely, all sorts of little plantings, orchids, crocus, succulents, etc. We'll be back soon, one of these days. It does cool off in the evening, since you are at a higher elevation but the room can be a little stuffy. Open windows and fan help. Behind the property, there are many Mac Nuts trees...I saw an owl fly over one evening.
