15 reviews for Kings Inn, Seattle
i'll be back for more...
By Shawn, 10/30/09
best price, location, clean rooms... we're on a cross-country trip from california to new york, and had to really watch our budget. so, despite some negative reviews online, we decided to stay at this place for one night. long story short, this was the best hotel/motel stay we have ever had. staffs are very friendly, room was very clean and smelled good, too. location was the best feature. we didn't have to drive around - everything was within walking distance. price was very cheap for what it had to offer. all staffs were friendly and helpful. while we stayed there, there was a movie shoot taking place at the hotel - that was really neat. i can see how old people would complaint about this place for it is an open planned very easy going and none-formal place right in the middle of downtown action. for young people and open-minded people who aren't looking for 4 star hotel features from an economy lodging, this place is a gem. i will be writing reviews as we travel across the states, and hope to have same luck everywhere we go.

its all good.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/25/09
I got a chance to stay there for one week with my wife last January but I dont understand all those negative opinions about this place. The place was really cheaper than other places nearby and I think you can not find this cheap rate near any other place. The desk clerk was friendly when I tried to check in and helped me with my luggages and answered all of my questions. The room was very comfortable for 2 people and I could use internet for free. The mattres I had in my rooom was just perfect for me. There was no spring coming out from underneath mattre. I didnt have the microwave in my room so they let me use it at the lobby anytime I needed it. And also they cleaned the carpet with a steam vucuum once in my room during the stay. I could smell the freshness from my carpet in the evening time when I got back to this hotel after shopping. ohhh I think I will come back to this place next year for my anniversary.

Strong Possibility of catching bed bugs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/11/08
Only thing passable about this place was the location. My 20 yr. old son stayed here 2 nights and brought bed bugs home with him. The timing of the stay and the appearance of the bites was highly suspicious for this hotel being the source. He stayed nowhere else on this trip.

all good. no complaints here.
By JKL, 05/12/08
I don't know what kind of fancy five star hotels these people usually stay in, but when I stayed at the kings inn, I had no problems whatsoever. It is what it is: good clean budget hotel in prime location. I was surprised to see all these negative reviews when I came here to post my review, and I suggest that if you're in the area, at least check the place out before committing to stay. What I liked the most is the location - right in the middle of everything happening. Staffs are very friendly and easygoing. furnishings are little older, but I've seen worse at other well known hotels. The room was very clean including the bathroom. Very clean sheets, towels, and new carpet. I don't believe these people talking about bed bugs or painting and etc. I'm sure they're upset about something else and just exaggerating. I also loved free parking and free wi-fi which worked fine for me. I'm going back to Seattle in June and will definitely stay there again.

terrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/04/07
this place was gross...there was trash downstairs in the parking area near where the washer & dryers were located, the elevator smelled of pinesole, the beds were not completely comfortable, the room smelled like pinesole, the bathroom was not dirty but the outside part of the tub was stained, there were scuffs on the walls, the carpet was sticky, there we hardly any outlets and the ones that were available made the light flicker, the room DID NOT look like the picture, the wireless internet didn't work, and check in & out times were different then advertized online. however, there were no bed bugs in our room....we checked... we stayed because we weren't from the area and everything else was booked...

Cheap Downtown Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/16/07
The only good thing about Kings Inn is the downtown location. The customer service is terrible. The rooms are extremely small. The double room has two twin size beds and the singe room has a full size bed and no room has an iron or iron board. The bathrooms have no electrical outlet and there are only two outlet and neither is a three prong. I definitely would not stay there again.

would never go back
By Magic Man, 05/13/07
The room was very small, especially for $109 a night during the week.I could barely open the dresser drawer it was so close to the bed.TV was only 19in.It was noisy,(street noise). When I got to my room,I couldn't even see the TV picture,it was so blurry. The AC didn't work, but the heat did(it was summer).I went to tell the clerk who told me that the ac did work, but e would send someone to look at it.Hours later nobody came by to look at it,although like i said, people were painting and sweeping,(i could tell they worked for the hotel).I asked one of them to look at my TV and he did fix it.The AC never got fixed.Days Inn was around the corner, wish I had stayed there.I would rather sleep on the street than stay there again. If your a glutton for punishment...at least ask to see the room before you check in,you'll thank me!Another customer complained about the smell of paint in her room, the clerk told her"you'll be ok" he'll be done in 30 mins.Instead of just giving her another room(the hotel was 80% vacant). That should have been a warning sign. They just didn't seem to care about their customers at all.So if your in Seattle and it's your only option, get a cardboard box and sleep on the sidewalk, you'll save money and be better off.

Avoid this like the plague !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/07
Checking in before dinner, we noticed that the furnishings were rather shoddy and the carpet unclean, but it was cheap and close to our restaurant/meeting. Returning, with friends, we could not get the lights/fan in the bathroom to work. Using the toilet in the dark was challenging for all. It was not fixed by morning, and when the clerk finally checked the circuit breakers, the lights and TV in the main room went off. When we checked out (without showering), we asked the clerk, and later the manager, for a full or partial refund. They said no, and the manager stonewalled further requests. The motel was bad enough, but in 45 years of travel, I've never encountered less cooperative management, and obviously poor maintenance.

Clean, cheap, basic
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/24/06
Basic room with basic furniture, bed, and bathroom. Small room, a little cramped. Great price for the location (5 minute walk to Pikes Place) It looks the same as any other hotel when my eyes were closed.

Service and Room Terrible-Skip this one
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/08/05
Needed room with two beds and the only room they had the heat did not work in and it was 30 degrees out and was about 40 in the room when requsting a new room all they had were rooms with 1 bed. They acted like they didnt care. I have to say even if the heat did work in the room it was aweful. Smelly and dirty very old and run down. If you are looking for economy rooms stay near airport and commute into town. Everything else downtown is fairly expensive. I ended up moving to a very nice Hotel one block from convention center for twice the price since I didnt have any option on short notice.
