Nice and Quiet!!!
By Daniel, 10/12/12
This was my second trip to Northwood Inn and Suites Bloomington, MN. Past; I had bad experience in selecting the hotel. Made reservations over the Expedia through Internet and got a good deal at Northwood Inn and Suites Bloomington, MN. The rooms were clean - good smelled. The bathrooms were neat and clean, the view was ok. Staff was very friendly and the coffee was really good. The hotel also has the amenities like Hairdryer, Internet Access, Microwaves, Coffee Maker and Air conditioning. We had no complaints and would stay there again.

Avoid this place!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/11
Made reservations well in advance of our stay as we had stayed there with no real problems twice before. On October 29th, 2011 we arrived at the hotel for a 3-day stay. At the registration desk an employee stated that we must pay the whole 3 days in advance, and I explained that we always paid them when we checked out. The employee insisted that we pay in advance and I asked for the manager. Neal the manager came to the desk and said that it was okay for us to pay when we checked out. Later in the day when we returned to our room, the door pass would not work, so I went to the desk and a new employee said we needed to pay in full before we could re-enter our room. Again I asked for the manager and Neal the manger, once again, informed the check-in staff that we could pay when we checked out. The next morning, upon rising, I found a German Cockroach crawling on our bed, and I captured it, with its' full reproductive sack intacted ( I am a former exterminating company owner) and took it to the front desk and informed them that this was totally unacceptable. The new desk person said he would call their exterminator right away and have the room sprayed. On returning to our room later in the day, we found that the door pass would not work again, so I returned to the front desk and complained and was told the card probably just malfunctioned. I also asked the person working the desk if the room had been sprayed, for roaches, and he said yes. I then asked him what the exterminator had used and if the room had been aired out and was safe to enter. He informed me that he could not answer that and that the manager was asleep and he would not wake him (middle of the day), so I personally aired the room for 30 minutes before entering. When we checked out on November 1, 2011 we used our American Express card to pay the Bill of $195.42. On November 5th, 2011, while checking our American Express account we found that they had charged our account a second time for $195.42, and after several phone calls to The travel Lodge, and speaking with Neal the manager, we were finally informed on 11-11-2011 that our $195.42 credit would appear on our American Express card at midnight 11-11-2011. Well, needless to say, it is now 9:14am on 11-12-11 and still no refund. On calling the travelodge (Now called Northwood Inn and Suites) I was informed that the person on the desk did not know anything about it and the manager would not be in till 3pm, and so the saga continues. Needless to say, we will never stay there again!!! Update 11-14-11 Money has still not been credited back to our American Express Card as they have promised.!

Don't book it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/10/09
I wish I would have read reviews first before booking this "hotel". First off, it was not a hotel, it was a motel. Pictures on their website are very deceiving. It looked clean, well kept and like it offered good service. It was complete opposite. We weren't looking for much. We were their for a quick stay (one night). We just wanted an affordable room at a hotel that was clean were we could take a swim in the pool/hot tub, sleep take a shower and go. As we approached the building, I said this couldn't possibly be it but after double checking our confirmation address it was it. It was old, EXTREMELY run down, and dirty looking. The staff were nice, but did not look professional at all... more like slobs.. which was a word that really suited this hotel. I inquired about the hours of their hut tub.. it was under long term maintenance. It did not surprise me at all by the look of the place. If it wasn't, I would have never gone in anyways. We checked into our "motel" room, it was again, run down, things needed repairing, it stunk like mold. I slept but horribly questioning myself if they washed the sheets. It was so gross... I didn't even take a shower. We woke up and left right away. The price is good but not worth it at all. Keep looking folks until they clean up their act. To me it wasn't acceptable!

Excellent experience
By CharmdAngel74, 6/27/09
A very pleasent experience. Huge rooms and a friendly staff. We had a slight issue with the toilet getting plugged in our room due to my son trying to flush something that he shouldn't have. The staff was very polite about it ahd even gave us a different room because they weren't able to get the toilet fixed that night. The only issue was that the pool area was a little dirty, but not too bad. I would Highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in the Twin Cities.

Don't waste your time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/27/09
The bathroom in hour "hotel" room had mold behind the toilet. The door led to the outside so we could hear cars ALL night. The pool was tiny and the hot tub had boards nailed over it...needless to say there was no swimming. It was nice to have a fridge and microwave but would have easily even that up for the comfort inn across the street for about the same price. Please, keep your money. You can find another place!

Well maintained !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/21/08
Though not very cheap, like everthing else in the area, the hotel was lovely. It was clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was good, and the hospitality was appreciable. The beds and pillows were the best and we had a good night's sleep.

Friendly People !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/26/08
A friendly hotel. I was to find a reasonable priced hotel, at the last minute, that would also provide a clean and comfortable accommodation. So I am pleased with this hotel in Bloomington.. They were nice and hospitable.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/6/08
This was our first time in Minnesota and I know this hotel is no indicator of how the state is, but if it were, we would never come again. Our first problem was @ check-in. We had booked through expedia and the clerk would not honor the price that expedia, had quoted and confirmed to me in the form of an e-mail which I had with me. We were charged approximately $85 more than what expedia confirmed. There are no elevators and we were on the third floor. The pool is on the first floor and the rest are upstairs. The heater wouldn't shut off, blasted hot air constantly and we had to be moved, necessitating another walk with 4 pieces of luggage to the 2nd floor. The swimming pool was too cold to swim in everyday but one and the hot tub was out of order for 2 days and so cold, nobody could get into it. You could hear noise from all over and there was a couple in the parking lot, fighting one evening and our pizza delivery driver would not get out of the car, because of it. The only good thing I can say about it was how clean the maids cleaned the room. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Worth the Price.
The hotel provided good accommodation. The room was well furnished and maintained.I liked the location-it was well close all the shopping areas and was easy to connect to the places of interest. The two night stay here was reasonable considering the good service they provided.
