Misleading company you should avoid!!
By Greens, 09/11/09
While at Mt. Olympias in the dells we came across a booth that said "end of season free stuff" (this is the first misleading information) The man working the booth told me to spin the wheel to get some free "stuff" After I did this a few times I am expecting to receive something free right. Wrong! now he tells me I have to go to the Christmas resort a blue green property to take a tour to receive my "free" gifts. I guess he was never told time is money and 90 min of my vacation is not "free" We listen and agree after all he offered us a stay at the resort and a 75 dollar visa card. I am no fool I know this is a time share sales pitch at this point. I did not know this at first or I would not have stopped. He never said this was a sales pitch he said they only wanted to get the word out about the resort. (misleading point number two) As he went into his fast talking spill and he did ask me if I made 50K a year. I stop to think about this, I did last year but not this year, before I could answer he said. "There will be a box when you get there that says 40/50/60 just check that and you will be fine." My wife heard this as clearly as I did. Last year I had made high 60's but this year I will make in the mid 40's. So I agreed and went forward. (misleading point number three) This is the part I am very upset about he talked us into giving him 20 dollars cash and said "when I walked in the door they would hand me 20 dollars right back." We leave the park a few minutes early then planned to make our appointment. When we get there I the boxes were 40-49 50-59 and 60-69 and so on. I decide to put down this years income 40-49 at this point everything changes. Now they do not want me "seeing the resort so I can go home and tell friends" That was his pitch, now I am no longer qualified. Fine we will gladly leave and go on our way, we had our reservation about this tour anyway. Now they tell me they will not give me 20 dollars cash it has to be in check form. They claim that they can not have cash there for security reasons. Come on! There are fifteen people in the building in the Wisconsin dells who are they afraid of? They were not afraid of this con artist back at Mt. Olympus holding to everyones money. Now I have to go find one of their banks the next day to get my 20 dollar check cashed. There was never anything "free" they did not want me to see their resort to tell my friends back home, and they did not return my 20 dollars in the form that I gave it to them. I could have lied about my income for this year or I could have been honest and put down what I made last year. But at the end of the day I want to be an upfront person. We knew once they start telling about a tour it was a time share he did not have to lie. We knew the twenty was to make sure we showed up. We did, they should have given us cash back the same form we gave them, nobody wants to deal with finding a bank and cashing a check on vacation. If they did not want to talk to anyone who made less then 50 thousand a year say so upfront before I take my family out of the park and drive across town. If this is how they treat you upfront think about what they will be like after you sign their contract.

The walls are made of paper. Rented a cabin, was given a villa.

LOVE IT!
By Deborah, 12/16/08
We love relaxing in the villa's/cabins, cooking our own food and not having to spend money on eating out. We love the outdoor hot tub, especially in the winter when it's snowing. Card bingo is a must - easy, fun and you can even win a few bucks. Restaurant service and food could be better, but that's not why we go to Christmas Mountain. Check in is easy, staff are helpful and the thought of using points to just check in and check out is great. Hopefully they will build yurts there, maybe instead of the camping area.

What an awesome place, can't wait to go back!
By Danette, 10/10/08
Before leaving for our trip to Christmas Mountain I had read many of the reviews on line. I have to say I was a bit worried after reading so many of the negative comments, I thought what did we get ourselves into. Well....upon arriving I knew my worries had been needless ones. Check in took all of 5 minutes, they gave us a map that took us directly to our villa. We had rented a 3 bedroom deluxe timber that comfortably accommodated all ten of us. The place was very clean, everything we possible needed was there. One of the bathrooms was missing a shower curtain, so I called housekeeping and within ten minutes someone brought one over and put it up. The kids had a absolute blast, they loved the swimming, mini-golf(which is free of charge) and the basketball courts. Plenty to please everyone. I liked the fact that we didn't have to spend money eating out at pricey restaurants. There is a Walmart super center about 5 minutes away. I am not sure about all the reviews I read because we didn't find one negative the whole weekend. We even asked for an 11:00 check out time, which they gladly gave us, for no extra charge. They seemed to go out of there way to accommodate us, even giving us a call one evening to see if we needed anything. We enjoyed are stay so much that I have decided to use some more of our points and booked four more stays between now and May of 2009. Christmas Mountain is definitely worth the drive and the stay! I highly recommend it! We had an awesome time.

Why is it soo difficult!!
By Dana, 09/16/08
Why is it so difficult to plan a vacation with Bluegreen? Every time we try to book a trip we end up mad and frustrated. What a hassle! Geez! We are 2 hours from Christmas Mountain and don't ever want to use it cause its a pain in the butt! We've tried to sell it or even let them have it back but no luck there. We owe nothing and would let them have it and they won't take it!! I'd rather stay home and work!!!! Anyone else feel this way? Don't even know the last date and year we visited cause it sucks to book it!!

Just Got Back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/08
We just got back from Christmas Mountain Village and we really liked it. Everyone was friendly and very accommodating. Unfortuneatly this was when it rained a LOT and there was flooding. I would love to go back. It is definitely a place for families however it was just my husband and I. We loved our villa and there was plenty of activities for all ages.

Twice a year for us
By daniel k, 11/18/07
We get two cabins in the summer and two in the winter every year. WE LOVE IT. It is very family friendly and there is a ton of things to do. Way more in the summer of course. The golf is great and affordable and with the dells a few miles away you'll never be bored. Lastly, to rebut another review - they do have WIFI in the main buiding. Because it's not a "hotel" type resort it would be very difficult to offer it in all the cabins.

COMPLAINT W/O EVEN STAYING
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/07
I WAS BROWSING THEIR WEB SITE SINCE WE ARE GOING TO STAY THERE THIS WEEKEND. I CALLED TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE WIFI AND WAS SHOCKED TO LEARN THEY DO NOT HAVE WIFI. I CALLED TO TRY AND BOOK HORSE BACK RIDING WHICH IS ADVERTISED ON THEIR WEBSITE ONLY TO LEARN THAT THEY NO LONGER HAVE STABLES OR RIDING THERE. THEY APOLOGIZED FOR THEIR WEBSITE BEING OUT OF DATE. I HAVE NOT EVEN STAYED THERE AND AM ALREADY DISAPPOINTED.

GREAT GETAWAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/09/07
I RECENTLY STAYED AT CHRISTMAS VILLAGE..AND REALLY ENJOYED MYSELF. MY HUSBAND AND I SPENT THE WEEKEND ALONE AND DISCOVERED EACH OTHER AGAIN. OUR TOWNHOUSE WAS REALLY CLEAN, WE BBQ'D, RODE OUR BIKES AND SHOPPED. THE ONLY PROBLEM I DID HAVE WAS THE SPA. THE RESORT RECOMMENDS THE 'SUN MOUNTAIN DAY SPA'. IT WAS HORRIBLE!! THE EMPLOYEES ARE REALLY NICE, BUT THE SERVICES STINK. PATHETIC MANICURE, INSUFFICIENT FACIAL. IT WAS JUST BAD..I SPENT $300.00..I WAS REALLY SICK TO MY STOMACH AFTER THAT PARTICULAR MONEY GIVE AWAY.. SO STAY AWAY FROM THE SPA BUT ENJOY THE RESORT!!!!!
