Overpriced and dated

The (overwhelmingly male) staff do their best, and from the outside this looks like any other Holiday Inn around the world. But step inside, and one is transported back to the 1970's, in a depressing sort of way. Rooms and public areas are shabby and tastelessly decorated. Furntiure and fixtures are flimsy. The "gym" is a small room where a few pieces of equipment are gathering dust. The restaurant is quite formal and not very inviting for a quick snack or just coffee. Breakfast buffet is uninspiring, at least the Western section, although the "Pakistani omelette" they make is spicy and satisfying. Rack room rates are absurdly high. There are many guest houses in Islamabad that are far better value.
