The Lalit New Delhi, New Delhi

Returning back to India after so many years we are thankful that we picked The lalit as the hotel to stay in. Our children aged 7 and 9 have nver seen India since we shifted to Canada 15 years back. the hotel was lovely with great food. Even the kids loved the food. They also liked the pool in the hot delhi summer. the rooms were beautiful and comfoirtable and from our room we could see almost the entire city. lovely homecoming thanks to The lalit Ankur Sharma, canada

for a start i disliked nothing about the lalit in new delhi. Well posibly the railway station was a minor problem but not much. in any case it is not the hotel's fault that our railways never see to stop moving around. the hotel was really nice.excellent food at the indian restaurant baluchi. and what an amazing bar. i tried their special cocktail which was quite something. the rooms too were excellent with a view to the swimming pool. truly a very luxurious property and i as told the group's hotels in srinagar and Goa are also amzing. That takes care of hunting for a hotel in thse two places. would definitely reccomend it to anyone. excellent stay and excellent staff.

Pros: *Stone's throw from CP - all hotels are bound to expensive here. Walking distance from Metro rail station! *Staff were extraordinarily professional, helpful and courteous. They didn't have to be - they could have been simply professional like most good places around the world and stopped there... I was impressed. *Food was excellent Cons: * ND railway station close by, but after some time I stopped hearing the train hoots. *On the expensive side, but expected for a hotel this size in/near CP (Connaught Place). On the whole, a kind experience. Highly recommended.

My job takes me to official tours across the length and breadth of the country. I have stayed at almost very deluxe hotel and found various hotels excelling in one factor or the other. But almost none of them I could say was a complete package of comfort and utility. So when I checked into The Lalit New Delhi, knowing that I was to host a cocktail dinner for 250 people the next day for my company, I knew I had my work cut out. Although the bookings had been done in advance and we had had email communications with the hotel I was petrified of what the hotel would eventually deliver. I need not have worried because The Lalit had their Crystal Ball Room fixed just as I wanted. Every implement needed for the event was in place and the banquets even had some extra equipment ready just in case we needed it. To top it all managers of the hotel were constantly interactive to ensure that everything was in order. Any additional assistance that I wanted was provided within minutes. The team was completely professional and had taken care of everything. The event was a huge success and we had The Lalit team to thank for it. It wasn’t until well after the event when we got a chance to sit back and relax that I got a chance to take a look at the hotel which was really quite gorgeous. But for me more than the plush interiors, it was the professional attitude that has me hooked to the Lalit group. Tanushree Radhakrishnan, Chennai

They charged a lot for local calls, simple snacks which are placed in my room.

Like the person below, I got a free stay there through my airlines due to delayed flight. I made to domestic calls from the hotel room ( 1mnt+3mnt) and guess how much they charged me. 911.52 Rupees, yes NINE HUNDRED AND ELEVEN RUPEES. Initially I thought it was a typo, but nope, the staff said it's 250/- per minute and my bill's not "negotiable". This hotel's just a joke. The room's alright yeah, but expecting to run hotels with such insane charges, it's just ridiculous.

Our flight in New Delhi was cancelled due to thick fog, so almost 300 of us were stranded. The airline sent us to The Lalit. The people from my flight that I had talked to had never heard of the name, so we were expecting something horrible. After all, what would the airline really want to give us a nice hotel for? We got there and we were shocked. The hotel was amazing. The staff were very kind. The rooms were very clean and ridiculously comfortable. The food was delectable. The hotel felt like home. It is definitely a place that I would recommend to others to stay. However, I am unable to state whether or not I feel it is worth the money. We did not have to pay for our stay, but I do think that if I had to stay anywhere in India that I know of, I would go back there.

I was there during December 2007, half of the hotel was under repairing. Still it was rather a nice place. The food was delicious and service was very helpful (yet like everywhere in India :-)). But the location of the hotel is not very good, the railway station is nearby and every train intends to horn while approaching and leaving the station.

An awful hotel. The bathrooms are tiny and appliances don't work properly. Service is very mediocre, and check-out can be a nightmare. Priority members are promised High Speed Internet at 'nominal charges' which are very high (about 1'200 Rupees). The connecting doors must be made of paper. One can hear the neighbour fart...
