Room Was Filthy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/5/11
My room looked as if it hadn't been cleaned. There was a long, black hair (not mine) and water marks on the white bathroom counter, as if it had not even been wiped clean from the previous guests. Under the bed I found a pair of filthy slippers from a previous guest. I threw them out. I also found two plastic extension wands for a canister vacuum cleaner. Perhaps the "cleaning" crew left them there. The bed was so disheveled that I thought the sheets may not have been changed. Luckily I brought my own pillow and pillow case. The unfitted bed pad had no straps, and was too small for the mattress. There were 7 or 8 bowtie pasta noodles, wet, on the carpet in the corner by the floor lamp. I was grossed out but was too tired to request a refund or a new room. You get what you pay for, and Knight's Inn is as budget as they come, but gee, is it really so difficult to make a room PRESENTABLE? Is it really so difficult to clean a motel room?
The mini-fridge was on the coldest setting 7, so I turned it down to 2 to save energy and to keep it from running all night. Maybe if the "cleaning" crew turned them all down a few notches, they could save enough in electricity costs to afford to buy bed pads that fit the mattress.
