Hotel Indigo Amherst, Amherst

There is nothing special about this hotel. It was fully refurbished, clean, and bright but the original "bones" of the place were poor--small rooms, low ceilings, long hallways, a maze-like layout--so it was disappointing. Our room rate was $150/night for 2 kings and there was no breakfast included in that price. They say they have a kitchen but everything offered at breakfast was packaged food. The rooms were not functionally furnished and there were too many decorative things in the way. When the room is that small you don't want a lot of decorative items around--you want places to put things and hang things. The room was just really crowded. I prefer the Hampton Inn downtown for the about the same price and the breakfast is included. (They were totally booked.)

This hotel is the PITTS...the room was clean but not practical by any means. We stayed near the ice machine and many Hockey Players under the age of 15. When I called down to the front desk to express my concern about the Hockey playing in the hall wat at 7:30AM I was told kids will be kids and they would have security from 9pm-11pm. Must be for the parents that were parting in the hallways. Crazy...

This place was amazing. The staff was so pleasant and very helpful. The hotel was decorated gorgeously and was very clean. I will be attending law school (across the street from the hotel) and my family will be staying at this hotel while they visit me.

This hotel was over priced and it sucked. Our room was dirty. The floors had not been cleaned, there was dust and bits of string on the floor. There was garbage in the furniture drawers. The room was super noisy! Our room was right next to the elevator and we could hear people talking at the elevators constantly, as well as the elevator bell dinging everytime the evevator stopped at our floor. Also, the floors are covered in a hardwood laminate, so you could here the people in the room above walking around....in fact the walls and the floor were so thin that we could literally here the guy in the next room peeing! I would never stay here again.... Sure, it looks trendy but really poorly built and designed , and no value for your money!

A great hotel, comfy bed, clean room, nice decor, FANTASTIC shower. If only they hadn't stuck it out in Amherst for the UB crowd. Downtown Buffalo needs a place like this. If the location isn't a problem, I'd honestly say this is the best hotel for the price in the area.

We reserved our room under the trustworthy franchise of Hampton Inn...upon checking in was told it was now the "Indigo". Delighted at first to find out we had one of the newly renovated rooms. Room was uncoordinated (they mismatched the bedding with the decor according to the pics. in the lobby), crowded with impractical pieces of furniture, semi-dirty and NOISY. They didn't tell us upon reserving the room that they were under renovations - happened to be in a room with a dumpster RIGHT outside the window and they started work EARLY in the mornings. No peaceful sleep-ins! Thought the new, hardwood floor idea was neat until we after three days of staying in it- the lint (string, etc) and bare-feet marks remained. They MAY sweep (though they obviously do not pick UP the stuff they sweep) but they do not mop. Gross to see feet marks on your floor. Told manager about floor but it remained uncleaned. Breakfast buffet was quite standard with LITTLE hot food offered - cereal, bagels, rolls, etc. We will not go back. No deal for the money.

Our senior's club read mr. humphrey's review and some of us came to Amherst and he was right the hotel was great , the shopping was handy and the resturants were a delight.We shall be coming back.

We usually shop in Amherst two or three times a year and always stay at the hampton for a number of reasons. The service you receive is second to none, the rooms are spotless and comfy, there is a friendly atmosphere especially in the lobby and your expanded breakfast is a great way to start your day.Also your hotel is close to what the ladies love , your shopping area. All in all who could ask for more?.
