A horrible, horrible experience
I'm an easy traveler, I don't need a whole lot out of the hotels I stay at, but for almost $300 a night I should be able to get a bed without bedbugs. I woke up with bites, big red spots, over all the exposed parts of my body. When I complained to the front desk, they were so rude, clearly not believing me or caring, and invited me to just fill out a comment card. I'm willing to cut a hotel a lot of slack, I'm sure they're no picnic to run, but this kind of treatment is just unacceptable.
I looked under the sheet, on the side of the mattress, and found the smears of fecal stains that google tells me is a sign of a bedbug infestation. I left the sheet off that housekeeping might notice it and actually do something about it, but I'm not optimistic. I'm half expecting them to blame me for it somehow, and try to charge me.
Then they charged me $20 for internet access. It is ridiculous that a hotel would charge me $20 to get online and figure out what the hell bit me.
The Jerusalem Gate is a hotel that clearly doesn't value their customers. I've been traveling on business for decades, stayed in literally hundreds of hotels, and never had such a bad experience in a supposedly well-regarded hotel as this. If I wanted treatment like this, I could have stayed in a hostel and saved my travel account $250.
