Anniversary retreat
By RandyV, 10/13/08
We stayed there one night for our anniversary. It's a beautiful location. Be prepared to walk up old stairs, possibly use the bathroom down the hall and hear creaks from the old building. If you are looking for a more rustic location with nice decor, stay here. Make reservations for dinner or they may not have seating as the dining room is small. Lovely and quiet lobby, some weekends there are local musicians playing free for your enjoyment. We got to hear the local dulcimer group.

Not what I was expecting But okay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/07
The area around this lodge was beautiful and the lodge was rustic and nice but it was not what I was expecting. The room we received did not look like the rooms I viewed online. It was very small and very HOT. No air conditioning but a fan was provided. The bed was very comfortable. But the hotel was noisy. There was probably 1/2" gap around the door that we could see through so we heard the hallway noise worse, and we heard the room next door very well. When we arrived we made a reservation for dinner at the Lodge Restaurant. We were told there were no reservations left for 6pm so we ate at 5:45 and the dining room never filled up passed 1/3 full the entire time. Pasta was $20/plate and any sort of meat, seafood or chicken was about $30. It was good food but not that good. Find a restaurant to eat across the street or in town. And I know it is a place to relax but an internet connection would be nice. Some people, like me, travel with a computer so we can look up local attractions etc... It would just be handy.

beautiful
By lori, 11/29/05
We my husband and I love the lodge. We visit from the north west 4 to 6 times a year. We find it the most restful moments of the year. We take our children once a year to the lodge and get a ajoing room our children are welcomed and have such fun just going down the stairs and getting hot drinks and waiting for us to come down and sit by the fire. The lodge has not got tv to distract you from life and just taking it in. As for us when we visit we rest, walk, sleep, visit our favorit pub or two and plan our next trip... lori

Romantic Getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/07/05
Private, charming, and comfortable place for a romantic getaway. We loved it the first time and return regularly. The area's beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife lure us back. The Lodge is the best place to stay at Wallowa Lake -- bar none.
