Windjammer Inn, Atlantic Beach

The place was awesome.........the bathrooms in the king size rooms are new, very modern. The hotel is wonderful and the beaches.........I wish I never had to leave. For those in love, I strongly recommend this hotel. It will always have a special place in my heart and soul. No matter where I go in live, this will always be a memory that will make my heart sing!

My husband and I have been staying at the Windjammer Inn for the last 8 years. It is the ONLY place we stay when we visit Atlantic Beach, which is 3-4 times a year. We love it. It offers everything we need, from great prices, great location and every room is oceanfront. The staff is always nice and ALWAYS remembers us, which is nice. The jacuzzi room is a must, if you go during the winter months (which my husband and I do at least once a year). We couldn't ask for a better experience. Would feel bad staying anywhere else. =)

While the facility was a bit dated (esp. the bathrooms), it afforded the best beach view and access I saw anywhere in that area. They put out beach umbrellas every day (first-come-first-served) and there are lots of beach chairs furnished by the hotel. The beach is less crowded than the more popular tourist beachs in the northern outer banks. If you don't have enough folks to rent a beach house, this is probably the best place to stay in the area if you want to spend time on the beach. It looks like it was very upscale several years ago. The owner's home is attached to the hotel, and I wish the hotel looked like that!

We loved it,the king bed and jacuzzi our room over looking the pools with an ocean view was awesome.We stayed several days & are planning our next trip.I think it will be great going back there each yr. for our Ann.We LOVE Fort Macon & Atlantic Beach. ONLY complaint:no coffee pot. Honey likes his coffee watching the sunrise. I bought him one *LOL* Can't wait to get back. Fishers will be back!

We have stayed here for the past few years when we can get to the beach. Love it ! The jacuzzi room is great. looking forward to going back soon.

I am headed down for my nephew's wedding and this hotel will not accomodate one night stays. They would rather lose the two nights and three nights already book reservations instead of accomodating one more of my family member for only one night. The general manager was rude on the phone and basically told me to go elsewhere. He would not give me any help or information on someone higher up-he said the owner didn't care about this type of stuff. Really in todays ecomony? That's amazing. I will be finding out and personally writing the owner whether he cares or not. Not looking forward-noticed the staff is rude-hopefully I can bear the two days without talking to anyone if I don't change hotels beforehand.

From the minute we arrived everyone was so nice. We weren't sure we would stay, but the associate at the front desk let us look at one of the rooms and we knew we were staying. The rooms were nice, very spacious and clean. And the view of the ocean was amazing! We hated to leave and will definitely be staying there again!! Can't wait to get back!

All I have to say is you really need to rent a room with a jacuzzi for a romantic and relaxing weekend! This was the weekend we needed!! Well worth the money!

We were at windjammer in mid Nov 08 It was a very pleasant room rather large and good hot heater in bathroom. Sorry we couldn't use the pool and spa but too cold. The help was very pleasant. It centerally located to go but Bueford and lots of restaurants, right across the bridge. Also took the boat to Shackelford Island where wild horses run. very close. Loved watching the ocean and seen many dolphins. My only complaint is they should have a coffee maker in room. Nice size ref. in room and microwave. Also comfortable beds and clean bedding. Will go again for sure.

The first day, after about maybe an hour, there was a knock on our door, a man who was obviously drunk was at our door, telling us that his key worked in our door, and he "accidently" walked in earlier, and sworn he didn't take anything. He then kept coming by about every 10 minutes, unlocking our door! Saying that he was testing keys that the front lobby gave him, we called the people at the front lobby, and they said they gave him about 7 keys to try, for some reason trusting him with the keys...I don't understand why they couldn't do it, or atleast escort him and supervise. Every single key worked on our door. The front desk, said they couldn't move us because there were no vacant rooms, and that they could call a locksmith the next morning. So the whole night, we were vulnerable to someone breaking in our room, then our air conditioner broke, so not only were we scared from someone breaking in, we were burning up because it was so smothering hot! All of that got fixed by the next evening, thankfully. By the third day, our hair dryer had caught on fire, and I saw a big old roach crawling in my room. In good news, the women who clean there are the sweetest. I have never met people who were so nice! They really made me feel welcome, and honestly I would come back just to see them! I hope that our room was just a freak accident, but I want everyone to be aware of things like this, and make sure it doesn't happen to you!
