The "Lodge" was a joke. This was not a lodge but trailer with siding. The door was open when we got there and I don'y mean unlocked. The place was FILTHY and smelled of cat urine. The beds were the worst I have ever slept on and to top things off...we had no heat. There were NO activities to speak of, unless you count the pool table in the saloon. When I went into the store area the woman who checked us in was giving a cabin to someone for $29 and I just paid $99 for the "Lodge" Poor service, horrible conditions. Will NEVER go back.

we just picked a lodge not knowing the area at all being from oregon and moved to tucson. It was cold up there the air was fresh and i had them decorate our room for my husband to be romatic and they did a great job with there own choices. i told them what i wanted and they did an awesome job. The cabin was great with nice fireplace in it. the comfort of the beds was awesome. Again making a reservation was hard but they get back to you. Under staffed for sure. not them being rude at all. the restaruant had good food and the drinks were good the bartender needs to be replaced totally. we are going to stay up there for a week on the 4 of july with our horses and quads and are way excited they have the facilites to bring our leasures from home with us. nice place

I had the best Mother's Day weekend at Mormon Lake Lodge. I went with my husband and 3 yr old for the Mother's Day Package (night in cabin, dinner and brunch for 2). When we got there it was like driving into a little western town that you see in the movies (post office, store, saloon, steakhouse and Zane Grey Museum). The friendly staff greeted us with smiles and the Lodging Manager Tamara was awesome! Our room was a Pine View Cabin with a fireplace which was so relaxing it really made us feel like we were in the country. It is very peaceful here. We walked their trail with our 3 yr old and loved it! There is a petting zoo, horses, buffalo and a playground amongst the simple beautiful scenery of the country. The Steakhouse is a rustic restaurant with picnic table seating with western memorabilia on the walls. Our servers at lunch, dinner and brunch were great! The food was delicious, the french onion soup is the best I have ever had! The Rib Eye and Ribs were spot on. At the Mother's Day brunch there were flowers to Mom's on arrival - the spread was a festivity of deliciousness - Mimosas, rib eye, mahi mahi, large shrimp cocktail, on the spot omelet’s of your choice, eggs benedict, biscuit and gravy, scalloped potatoes, soup, pastries, salads, etc. and a variety of delicious desserts. I am truly relaxed today after this memorable weekend. I do want to note that prior to booking, I did check trip advisor and saw some ok and poor reviews, but felt like I needed to check it out for myself and I am happy that I did. I am really surprised that there were any bad reviews here. Everyone from the GM, Lodging Manager, Cleaning Crew, Wait Staff, Store employees and Horse handlers were very attentive and genuinely friendly which is refreshing. I felt like I was part of a family here and recommend this place to everyone. It was so relaxing and comfortable here, at night it was so quiet and the sky was filled with a blanket of stars. We have a new tradition - definitely Mother's day here yearly and can't wait to come back in the Summer, Fall and Winter as often as we can get out of the city! Ny

It took 6 calls and several left messages over a 3 day period before I could talk to someone about making a reservation for a cabin. I was told by the reservation person that I could check in early if my cabin was readt. When I arrived at approx 11:30am I was told that I would have to pay an additional half day. She also argued that I hadn't called that many times to make a reservation. (Extremely poor customer service) We came back 2 hours later to avoid paying the extra amount. The cabin was dirty The carpet had lint and trash all around the bed area. We found dirty socks under the bed.The cabin was hot inside, but we could't open the windows because of the cabin location and the dust and dirt blowing in from vehicles going by continuosly. Went to the restaurant on sat morning at 8:15am Took 15 Minutes to place an order. Finally got the food at 9:40am. The waitress apologized and said she didn't know what was going on in the kitchen. The food was cold. The only good note was Fri night we ate at the restaurant. The service was good and the food was excellent.

The area is beautiful however the lodge needs to replace their management. There is such a turnaround of employees everytime we visit. The food has gone downhill and the restrooms and cabins are downright filthy. I thought Forever Resorts was a class act. Not with what they have going on at Mormon Lake Lodge. I'll camp instead!

I read the reviews after making a reservation. I too had trouble getting through to a "live" person. After 2 days I contacted a manager who returned my call quickly. We decided to still go as we had been looking forward to it. It is beautiful there and is rustic which is what makes it what it is. We were at the campground, so our experience may be different from others. Our space was nice and big enough. We ate in the restaurant once and the food was very good and not expensive at all. We went to the bar one night and the drinks are very reasonably priced, much cheaper then anywhere else. As to the picnic tables/benches being uncomfortable, it is a western setting not a high class restaurant. We liked it. Our wish was that they had a live band every night, not just on the weekends. We thought maybe because it was summer, it would be different. Everyone we met was pleasant, no one was rude. If we go back, it would definitely be on a weekend.

Well my trip started off with a stop at the steakhouse before checking into my cabin. I tried their Daddy-O Prime Rib dip. Let me tell you, that sandwich was amazing. The prime rib was juicy and delicious, the cheese was melted to perfection, and their steak fry's were awesome. However, the part that made my trip great was the waiter that I slept with. Hands down the best one night stand I have ever experienced. I definitely recommend a stay at this lodge. Try their beef and beefcakes!!!

I have been going to Mormon Lake for years, but my last visit was one of the best. The food was truly outstanding, and the service was friendly and attentive. The food has been up and down in recent years, but it has really become one of the best steakhouses in the west!

I love Mormon Lake Lodge! I always love to go there.I cant wait to go back. Its awsome. You should go there. You will have a great time when you go there.

My husband and I have been going since before it burned down the first time!! Service is beyond excellent, food is to "die for", pricing is good. The bar is a real "hoot" on the weekends and we have danced the night away many times in the old fashioned saloon. The cabins are quiet, clean, affordable and have outstanding views. GO YOU WILL LOVE IT!
