Congress Inn Motel, South Hackensack

The rooms were nice, and affordable, but don't expect much from the staff if you need assistance. When I called to get a quote for a room, I asked if they had wireless Internet, and the rep said "yes." I travel a lot, all over the country, and have stayed in hundreds of motels; just because a place advertises WiFi, it doesn't mean that it's actually working. I asked the rep if it works, and she said that "it depends on your hardware." That sounded fishy, so I replied "I understand, but is your Internet working?" She hung up. We went anyway. Since I was with my wife and kids, I asked for 1 extra towel, because we needed 5. There was another customer there who heard my question and immediately followed up by saying "yea, I don't have any towels!" The gentleman behind the counter told us "room service people aren't here so I can't give you any towels." The person running the establishment cannot access a room in his own place of business? I didn't want to get into an argument, so I just asked "Could you open up another room and give us the towels from there?" He paused, looked down, did something with his hands, looked back up and then said "It's not policy." I said "Seriously? You can't make an exception? My family could share the 4th towel, but you can't give her (pointing to the other customer without any towels) any?" He said, "Sorry, I can't do that." I told him that I am a business owner, who runs a service-oriented business, and I told him "that's bad business," and walked out.

This place is a dump. If you like hookers then maybe you should go but if not, you will not enjoy your stay here. I stayed there 2 nights and when I left, I had bug bites all over my body. Management became very hostile when I told them about the tv and refrigerator that didn't work right. STAY AWAY. It isn't worth the money you save because you will have to go to the doctor after you stay so you can get medicine to clear up the bug bites.
