Old World Charm
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/25/08
We loved everything about The Congress Hall. Clean, elegant, simple, great sheets. The staff was lovely and accomodating and the Blue Pig Tavern was a great alternative to trying to find a table at one of Cape Mays seafood houses. Hotel was a bit pricey but worth it.

Blue Pig Tavern
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/31/07
We did not stay at the Hotel, but ate at the Blue Pig tavern. The service was subpar and the food was overcooked and blah. The menu on the tourist guide is out of date, along with the prices. I would take a pass on this place and spend my monet elsewhere.

Excellent!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/11/07
What can i say about the beauty that is Congress Hall? The building itself is the artwork; so rich in history. Such lovely rooms, such wonderful staff... it was the best vacation that i have had in a long time. It was wonderful to be able to use their beach service (at no extra cost) for chairs, towels, and umbrellas. All we had to purchase were beach tags, which of course any true Cape May visitor knows, and lunch - which they brought to us!! i look forward to coming back soon, and have a relaxing coctail by the pool.

What an unexpected delight!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/9/07
I LOVED everything about the hotel - from the first view to the clean room and crisp smelling bed linens, the Aveda toiletries, the friendly staff, the location and the price. Found it on-line and it's been the only hotel I've ever taken the time to rate because the hotel deserves it!!

one of the best
By helenc, 12/12/06
My husband and I attended a wedding there in sept of 2006. Our room was lovely and we really thought that there was alot to do. We had soo much fun at night. There is a lot of night life in the area that you can walk to. Also the wedding was on the beach and the whole day was so enjoyable and relaxing Would go back often but it was a 6 hour trip for us. Excellent rate 5*****. Kathy and Peter Longmeadow,Ma.

The hotel was nice but not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/7/06
Congress Hall was beautiful and was in the center of everything. I would not spend this amount of money for this hotel again though. The people that worked there were not accomodating and did not take the time to make the stay enjoyable. We got to the hotel before check-in and they could not take our bags because they did not have enough room so we had to leave some things in the car and carry the bags that could not stay in the heat. When we got to our room, the air conditioning was broken. We were there for the hottest days of the year. The hotel does not even supply beach tags. For the amount of money that we spent per night, they could at least supply beach tags. When checking out, they came to take our bags but then the bags were just left outside and we had to put them in the car ourselves. I would definately go back to Cape May again but will find a different hotel because I cannot see myself paying that amount of money for this hotel again.

Go Elsehwere!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/12/06
Big bucks for what! Disappointed with everything - service poor -Staff could care less- in fact very rude when confronted about room problem. Made no effort to correct and they didn't!!!!! Service and food in the Blue Pig was HORRIBLE! We will never return to this Hotel!. Stay elsewhere and enjoy the beauty of Cape May. We left this Hotel frustrated!

Lack of attention
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/12/05
We made reservations and agreed to a price. We checked in and got a room for a disabled person, peep hole at my waist, small bed and shower trickled, but we had plenty of bars to hang on to if we fell. I complained to the front desk and the young lady didn't seem to know it was a room for disabled people. You would think if there was a fire they would know which rooms may have disabled people. She didn't offer to change the room or for that matter, make any comment. When we checked out I told the young man at the desk and he had no comment either??? Then when I got home, my confirmation came in the mail, with the wrong charges. I called today after my stay this past weekend, spoke with a different young lady in the reservation dept and she didn't seem to care that the rate was wrong. I asked for a manager or someone that cared and she gave me the GM. He did listen to my issues, he seemed surprised that no one acknowledged my them. I wasn't asking for anything for free. Don't get me wrong, the hotel was very nice and quaint. The location was excellent. I just feel they need some type of training to deal with complaints. I wasn't aggressive enough maybe to polite in my complaint about the room.

Unequaled Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/18/05
We go two or three times a year including over New Years and find everthing about the place above average. The restoration was perfect and the ambiance is only surpassed by the people.
