Nasty Motel,Nasty Owners
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/29/11
First off I'd like to describe myself as a polite and non aggressive person. I had been staying along with 3 other co workers in one of their 'quaint' tenements off and on for work for the paste 4 weeks(Not happy about that fact either). When I alerted the owners that the toilet had over run they cam over and with in a few moments while I was on an important business call the more flamboyant of the 2 started yelling, cussing me and swung a microwave oven in my direction. Luckily the company I was talking to records their calls and offered copies. The rooms are ran down with 2 prong outlets, old showers that do not drain, sheets and blankets are not changed, old TV's and everything else.

HELL
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/30/11
the owner is a jerk, asked him about an apartment across the street and told me he would not rent to me, and he didnt even know me, then he insulted me and my 1 1/2 year old daughter, the room was maybe 10x8ft, one tiny bed, no tv, fridge, or microwave, it had a bathroom though but the water was so rusty i wouldn't bath my dog in it, i may need a shot, i was to stay 3 nights but i left in less than 24 hours, DO NOT RENT ROOM HERE, diffenetly if you have kids, they may be traumatized.

Stay away from this Hell Hole!
By MattK, 10/18/10
Looked like a sleazy motel, but we were desperate after searching for hours for a hotel out of Fairmont on a Thursday night and this was the only place that had rooms. Now I know why. The door had clearly been broken-in several times. The frame was cracked and the chain lock hung by one screw. There were odd stains on the blankets. The walls & windows had no insulation and let in all sound & weather. Trains ran all night - sounded like they were going through our bathroom! In fairness, the tiny bathroom was clean.. though the towels might have been purchased at ACE Hardware. For $108 a room, this place is intolerable. Next time we'll keep driving instead. Stay away from this Hell Hole!

Go somewhere else!
By justcage, 10/27/08
I do a lot of traveling with the company I own and stay in a lot of hotels/motels. This hotel was filthy! The room reeked of cat urine, the walls in the bathroom were molded and the paint was falling off. The kicker, we wake up to find roaches crawling all over the room. We went to the "front desk" and were told “I will let you check out but this can happen at any hotel". No I am sorry, no type of shock or please let me comp you a night. We checked out and went to another hotel. I hate writing negative reviews for a company but this is not healthy for anyone to stay in! We should have checked out when we walked in and smelled the room but it was almost 1am. Thanks for reading and hope this help someone make a good decision.

Great Service and Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/23/08
I was in town for a few weeks with 5 of my employees from Texas working on a Project. We called several places and none of them could work with the budget I had set aside for this Project. I called the Baxa Inn and the Owner Sam said come down and we could work something out. After a brief Conversation we agreed on a weekly rate. The Place was Fantastic the rooms where spotless Plenty of fresh towels and the staff was very Helpfull in letting us know where everything in town was. The Owner Sam took great Pride in this Motel and it was nice to see someone who really cared about our stay. Chuck Louthan First Response Construction Dallas,Texas

Pleasant Surprise
By Alan, 8/14/06
We could not get a room in the "Chain Hotels" due to demand, but this place was a pleasant surprise. It was clean and Friendly and tastefully decorated. We would definately go back. It is a great value for the price.

A hidden gem
By Susan, 8/8/06
Passing through late evening looking for a place to stay, as the closest large town was totally booked. A employee of the local convenience store told us to try this. Old style, drive in motel in back, more rooms in front building more hotel style. The place was lovely, with a grand piano in the small elegant lobby, attentive staff. The property has been in the family for years and was restored very nicely. We stayed in the back, parked in front of our room and walked in. Clean, nice bathroom, nice beds. Price was great. As we left, two other couples checking out also commented on it, both referring to it as a gem.

If clean is your thing, give this place a ring!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/5/05
I stayed at the Budget Host Baxa Inn during Freshman Orientation weekend at WVWC. To be honest, I only booked there because the more 'notable' hotels were already booked. After checking in, however, I couldn't have been happier with the accommodations and service. The first thing I noticed was the absolute cleanliness of the room! Having traveled quite a bit, I've stayed in some rooms that forced me to go to a local WalMart to buy cleaning/disinfecting supplies. This room was impeccable! After taking my shower, I heard a knock on the door. A woman from the front desk/housekeeping was checking in to see if there was anything else I needed. I asked for more bath towels and she asked me for my used ones before she left. Within 5 minutes she was back with a fresh batch of towels. There's no better bargain anywhere! The price is right, and they'll treat you well and offer hospitality and cleanliness that the more 'notable' motels and hotels can only aspire to offer. I've already reserved a room there for my next visit in October.
