We will be back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/27/07
When you get home and back to the grind of things at work from a nice vacation like this. Once in a while someone will ask you “So how was Hawaii?” and that first recollection you have is usually the best time you had when you were on vacation. Yes? You know what I’m talking about. Well, my recollection was the time I spent snorkeling with my 7 yr old son the first day we stayed in Honokeana Cove. I will never forget the look on my son’s face when I first told him to look down into the water. The turtles were right in front of us but he didn’t realize how massive these turtles are until he looked down. I have never seen his eyes open so wide! And he froze like a frog in a pond. About 8 seconds later I saw this huge smile on his face. We were surrounded by giant sea turtles, and the gentle waves were pushing and pulling us along with the turtles. That there…that 15 mins is what comes in mind when people ask me “So how was Hawaii?” We stayed in unit 207 Aug26th to Sept 3rd. 207 was big enough, clean except for couple of very small moldy spots in the bathroom. Not enough to warrant a call to Sue, Betty or Dave. If we had I’m sure they would have taken care of it within minutes. One thing we did wish for was towel service which they don’t provide. The loft which we paid extra $10 per day for was too hot to be of any use even with the ceiling fan at full power. There is a constant gentle breeze that flows through the rest of the condo. There is road noise however, through the bedroom window facing the street. The view from the lanai was spectacular. We saw rainbows in the morning, sunsets in the evening, snorkellers swimming with the turtles in between. The staffs, Sue, Dave, and Betty are nice, friendly, and helpful. The grounds including the 3 grills were kept immaculate thanks to Dave’s constant hard work. The man deserves a raise. They all definitely have the Aloha spirit (including the guests.) This is the first and only place we stayed at in Maui so I can’t tell you that this is the best place to stay because I don’t know. I just know that for us this place is better than the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Oahu, and way better then Outrigger Plantation in Kauai. When we go back to Maui in a few years we are going back to Honokeana Cove, the sure thing. Thank you, Sue, Betty, and Dave for the wonderful memories. BTW, go to Snorkel Bob for gear rental (and not the other place), turn left at the driveway and go 1/2 mile or so. -G,M,R,and J

Just an amaziningly relaxing place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/07
Having been to Hawaii 5 times (twice on Maui) I would have to say this was the most relaxing place I have had the pleaseur of staying. Almost all the rooms are suites, most with at least a kitchette and some with full kitchens. The location is right on the beach. The two room suite my family and I stayed in was very roomy, exceptionally clean, and within 100 feet of the water. Only issue we had was one night the dishwasher backed up and we had a minor flood. But the staff was there quickly and took care of the problem. The one restaurant on site is good, but not great. We loved it for breakfast, it was OK for dinner. Really, the best part is that you are in driving distance of Lahaina, surrounded by large resorts and yet for all intent and purposes it like this small island away from everything. Highly recommended

Happy to Pay the Money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/16/06
I was running a timeshare exchange when I happened upon this place. After looking at pictures on the internet and talking to the office staff, I cancelled my timeshare exchange search. There was no way I was not going to stay here. I didn't care if our vacation cost the extra money. I was happy to pay the money and will be happy to do it again. If we ever return to Maui which I hope we do, I will stay no where else. The snorkeling with the turtles and fish, easy access to the water, low-key feeling, unbelievable view from the lanai made this a perfect vacation place to stay. We took my step-son who has an incurable cancer. He had the trip of his lifetime and most precious memories of his stay there.

We love this place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/06
We fell in love with Honokeana Cove. From your condo you can see the sea turtles bobbing their heads in the water as if to say "Come and swim with us!". Our teenagers swam with the dolphins in Napili. Our entire family is looking forward to visiting again soon.

Da Kine!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/27/05
My wife and I stayed nearby for our anniversary and we had to bring the kids back, but the other property was only stuios so I found this little gem. Rates are very reasonable... very! View is outstanding from any unit. Low key. Small and friendly. Sunsets are spectacular. Snorkeling is amazing. My kids were blow away to come within a few feet of large sea turtles daily. There are dozens that live in the cove. The sandy beach is a short walk around the point. Short drive to town, but shops are nearby. The Ritz is not far and makes a nice evening walk. We will be back soon. This is the best spot on Maui. I recommend this for families or couples that want a laid back Island experience.

Excellent
By Mark, 10/09/05
We are torn: Should we give the "Cove" a good review and encourage others to come or do we keep this little gem our secret? Turtles turtles turtles. On our last day snorkleing we lost count of how many turtles we saw. "Black Rock" down the road has better water clarity, but it's also crowded. How nice is it to walk down from your condo and presto, you're swimming with lots of fish and turtles? Also, the ramp and handrail come in very handy. Very relaxing, low-key vacation. We ate almost every meal in and saved lots of money. Be warned: No A/C! Had we known that we may not have stayed here, but we would have missed out. The trade winds keep things cool at night and our ceiling fans ran non-stop. I guess that's part of the Maui experience. We will be going back to the "Cove" in the very near future. Great!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/17/05
This place is great. It is a good place to get away from the tourism, but is close enough to Lahaina. It is private and beautiful. It is one of Hawaiis best kept secrets.

Our Secret
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/02/05
This is the best kept secret on the Island. Very private. This place gives you the Aloha Spirit and warmth just by pulling into the parking lot. All the luxuries of the best golf in the world, and fine dinning are just a short walk away. You can't beat this. I will NEVER stay in Kaanapali again.

Snorkeler's Dream
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/04
There's a lot to say about this place; it isn't too elegant, but somehow super anyway. Where else can you lounge around a lovely pool, 30 level steps from your condo and 30 steps in other direction to the ocean? Beach is mostly rocks, BUT it a very safe, easy entry with a handrail yet. Once in the water, there is some sand close in, so fine for novice swimmers or unsteady seniors, and the cove is well protected. All the rocks soon yield to some nice coral and lots of fish. Like turtles? The same guys are here, year after year. Prefer a sand beach? Napili Cove is a literal 5-minute walk. Prices are moderate, given the numerous advantages. all thumbs up!

Honokeana No Ka Oi!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/04
This place is da bomb! Great condo complex with pool, bbqs, and the BEST snorkeling in Maui right out your door! Also two good surf breaks when the swell is right: Hole in the Head and Little Makaha. Great management ensures a perfect vacation. Been there 4 times and just made reservations to go back with the kids
