Loved it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/06
Wonderful inn and staff. As a dog lover, even though I didn't have my dog with me, I liked seeing that they accepted pets. Wished places on the east coast would be as accommodating. Disliked nothing about the place and liked everything.

TERRIBLE DISAPPOINTMENT
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/11
This is not the same Vagabond House, and my husband and I have stayed there since 2000. It is under a new management and that comes through loud and clear. The bedding was dirty, the TV's were not working, and the wine and cheese presentation is something I wouldn't even serve friends. Adding to this, those working there, could be overheard complaining about their job at the Vagabond House (I think it might be the newest GM). Adding to this disappointment is it was the locals whom I met substantiated my experiences, saying they have heard there is a problem at this property.

Nice Place to stay
By Sadly Amused, 7/4/09
We stayed here several times. The last time we stayed was in the room with the small kitchenette. We have also rented room 16. I loved it there in December when the weather was a little wild. The only daawback was parking

We can't wait to go back next year!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/15/10
We loved this place! It has incredible charm, a gorgeous courtyard with beautiful blooming flowers and most of all, we loved our room. It overlooked the courtyard, had hardwood floors, a fireplace, a great bathroom with a deep soaking tub and my favorite thing: a Dutch door! The service was outstanding. Lots and lots of attention to detail: sherry in your room, a delicious continental breakfast and wine, fruit and cheese in the afternoon. They gave us excellent restaurant commendations and made reservations for us as well. We are already planning our visit for next year! Thanks so very much for your hospitality!

NICE COTTAGE NEAR THE BEACHES
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/04
I am a frequent visitor to Lincoln Green cottages and always enjoy my stay, it's a little off the beaten path if your visiting Carmel for it's wonderful shopping, but being a long time Carmel visitor my main goal is to kick back and relax, and these nice cottages certainly fit the bill. We stay in Maid Marion which has a full kitchen, which is very well stocked with utensils and such. My small dog George loves this cottage to him it's like a home away from home and your only 3 short blocks from Carmel beach (dogs run free) and Carmel River beach (dogs must be leashed)...These are old "summer" type cottages and a little worn, but would not stay at any other establishment in this dog friendly city.

Great find tucked away in Carmel
By M Buchanan, 9/9/04
I have stayed at both The Vagabond House and the cottages they manage, Lincoln Green Cottages, and have enjoyed both very much. Vagabond House is tucked away in central Carmel. The room we stayed in had a king size bed and fireplace and opened out into a quite interior courtyard. Lincoln Green Cottages are closer to the beach and are self-contained with living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Very charming, comfortable, and roomy. Worth a visit.
