We liked it
Likes: Strategically located near the junction of I-80 and SR 89, the Inn is an easy drive to Squaw Valley and Northstar ski areas, north shore Tahoe destinations, and downtown Truckee. Even Reno is only a 40-minute drive east on I-80.
Dislikes: The freeway location means the Inn is adjacent to I-80, with its traffic and noise. Light sleepers should request a room that doesn't overlook the freeway. It is located in a condo/shopping neighborhood so there isn't a lot to see or do. It is, however, a short walk to Truckee's biggest (and only) shopping center with a supermarket, drug store and several eateries.
Rooms: Basics only. Cable TV, mini-fridge, phone, heater/AC under the window. No closet; there's only a clothes rack on the wall, plus a ski rack. Shower-tub condo. If you're on the first or second floors, you sometimes can hear creaking noises from the guests walking around upstairs.
Amenities: Self-serve free continental breakfast with pastries, bagels, instant oatmeal, coffee, tea, juice. 24-hour self-serve coffee & tea. There is an indoor sauna and hot tub/jacuzzi in the rear of the hotel.
Other: Access to the rooms is by indoor corridors and stairwells; disabled travelers should request a first-floor room. Pets are allowed in first-floor rooms. Your room key lets you in the property after hours (the front doors are locked overnight).
Overall: We liked the Inn because it was clean and basic, and not too pricey. We used the money we saved (from not staying at a more luxurious property) on lift tickets...
