I HAD A GREAT TIME WHILE IN SANTA CRUZ! I LOVED MY HONEYMOON SUITE...IT WAS SOOOOO BIG AND A GREAT PRICE!!!! WE LOVED IT....WILL DEF BE GOING BACK SOON!!! tHANKS sANTA cRUZ bEACH iNN!!!!!!

Everything was perfect ~~ the staff treated us like family, the Breakfast was excellent, the hotel is gorgeous and I felt so welcomed~~ i've never been more relaxed on a vacation~~going back asap!!! I recommend this hotel for An amazing honeymoon, A romantic getaway, Girlfriend getaway, Older travelers, Great pool scene, Families with young children, Families with teenagers, Tourists and Business Travellers .

When I made my reservation, I had high hopes. Lady was very nice, I explained to her my problems with hotels in Santa Cruz in the past. She promised me she would give me a clean nice room. She made me feel as though I was being taken care of. This was not the case. And when I needed something other then what I received, front desk people turned to a nasty group. And the on site management were not any better. There is no air, no fans, and you don't want to sleep with your windows open, not the safest part of town. Refrigerator was broken, pool was filthy, elevator was broken half the time, my kid even got stuck in it. Management just came up and forced the doors open and didn’t even say sorry.

We are very unhappy with the way the "management" treated us regarding rates at the scbeach inn. I called and booked a room for 3 nights on a Thurs. When we checked in the following Tues. the rates had dropped $20 per night. When I spoke to Raymond, the manager, he refused to adjust the rates for us. We have been frequent guests (at least twice a year) and have enjoyed staying there. In fact, the last time we visited we were surprisingly upgraded - at no charge. Evidently "customer satisfaction" has become a thing of the past at the Santa Cruz Beach Inn.

booked and paid for a suite. room was a small sized standard room not worth money. They try to get away with falsely advertising a suite room when it is really not. shameful

The experience my girlfriend and I had at the Santa Cruz Beach Inn was exceptional, that is, exceptionally horrible. Our room was located directly below an underage drink fest. The sounds and footsteps of minors running and jumping around above hit peak annoyance at midnight. We called the front desk to address the situation and the clerk assured us the disturbance would be stopped. 20 minutes later as the party grew louder and as our bed lamp started to shake we called the front desk again. The obviously annoyed clerk answered and said he had already called the room above and the guests told him they were not having a party. The clerk then told me about my options. This is the good part. The clerk told me that if the noise wouldn't stop he could move us to a different room on the other side of the hotel. I remind you that it is now 12:30am and my girlfriend and I are planning to go surfing at 5:30am. After one last attempt at having the hotel stop the party I was forced to go myself and ask the teenagers to stop. Obviously the party continued on until 4:00am with the sounds of not so sober teenagers leaving and cars honking. Later that morning we discussed with the front desk the situation and their reply was that there was nothing they could do and that we should be grateful because we already had a discounted price on the room. We should be grateful? As we walked through the parking lot below the balcony where the party took place we had to step over beer bottle caps and spillage stains to get to our car. A nice parting gift from the sleepless night from hell. All in all I would say that if you want a clean room to stay at within walking distance to the Boardwalk stay here. If you want a hotel you can sleep in STAY ANYWHERE ELSE BUT THE SANTA CRUZ BEACH INN.

We've been going here for a number of years and during that time the facility has had a number of 'lives.' First it was the New Riverside Inn, then the Best Inn. Now it's the Santa Cruz Beach Inn. It's also had a wide array of management during the period - from the pretty good to the very bad. Its current iteration is really pretty good. Maintenance has dramatically improved and the staff is more accomodating then we've found in the past. It's location and cost make it one of the better choices in Santa Cruz - a reason we returned even after some past 'less than ideal' experiences. Very nice to see it on the upswing. One hint: As with many Santa Cruz motels, stated price can vary greatly depending on season and weather. After recently calling and being quoted a high rate with a 2-night minimum stay, I went on to Yahoo Travel and got one night at a much lower rate.

This place was awful!! I made a reservation on August 19,07 for Sept 29,07 @ $99/night Arrived on Sept 29th and to my surprise the front desk said my reservation was for Aug 29th had been charged to my card and there were no rooms available for the night. Although, they had one room that had a leaky roof (was moldy my husband ended up sleeping in the car) for 169.00 a night. We were desperate because there were no other rooms available due to cheerleading and soccer competitions in town. They did not stand by there mistake. Customer service was poor. Rooms were horrible. Fair warning find another place!!!

Our family of four has stayed at this Inn three times for three day trips to the Santa Cruz area. The rooms are clean and large enough to keep all your personal effects. Our rooms all had tv, small refridgerator and large closet space. The complimentary continental breakfast was ok. Standard things you would expect; fruit, coffee or tea, juice, breads and cereal. It is within walking distance to the beach and the boardwalk. It has a good sized pool and spa. We usually get a room that overlooks the pool, which is a bit higher, but is worth the price. We stay there again.
