Excellent Location!
By ,
The location of the Cow Hollow Motor Inn is fantastic! Very close to the marina, minutes away from the famous curvy Lombard Street. The neighborhood was very friendly with lots of little places to eat all around. The room was very nice and had a great view of the city. We even paid the extra $5 for the refrigerator. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay right in San Fran. Plus - they have underground parking for their guests! Definitely worth the reasonable rates to stay here.

Great Value and Location
By ,
I almost do not want to write a good review. The Cow Hollow is a best kept secret. It's becoming harder to get weekend reservations. We stay here at least 2 or 3 times per year. The location is great. The food options are better than other locations in San Francisco. You do not need a car to get around when staying at this motel. Bus 30 can be picked up on Chestnut St. takes you close to Fishman Wharf, through North Beach and China Town and ends up at Union Sq. My wife and I have been coming here for more than 15 years. Oh, free parking and internet. If you stay at Fisherman's Wharf or Union Sq., parking and internet can add $40 to $60 per day.

I Left My Heart At Cow Hollow Motor Inn
By ,
I stumbled onto this hotel in 1998 and I've stayed there every year since. Reasonably priced, free parking (which is free and there's plenty of it...a rare find in SF) and local calls, conveniently located to tourist attractions, restaurants - You can't ask for a better place to stay!

Would definitely stay there again
By ,
Keep in mind that I paid $79 per night. Definitely worth the money. I choose this place based on Frommers review. It has a great location if the city isn't your only interest in San Francisco. You can see the Presedio and the Marina from the hotel. It's surrounded by nice resturants and shops. Another plus was the free parking and free internet connection. We were still on NY time and were up and about at 4 am, so we toured the neighborhood at sunrise and not one car was on the road! Went down the "Crookedest Street", and saw magnificant homes which are close to this hotel. There were only two negatives about this hotel. There was a foul odor in the elevators and halls. However, the rooms didn't smell at all and were clean. The other negative may be just a prefence, is that they could use softer toppers for their matresses. I would stay there again, or at any of their sister hotels.

Outstanding hotel!
By ,
We've stayed at Cow Hollow Motor Inn for about 20 years. We make several business trips to the City each year and never stay elsewhere. The rooms are large and clean. The staff is kind and courteous. Lots of restaurants in the area. One of the few areas in San Francisco that you truly feel safe walking at night. We always recommend that our friends visiting the City stay at Cow Hollow!

Poor service
By ,
We had reservations that were paid in advance. The key was to stay in a room that we had stayed in before. I called ahead a week before to confirm. I then called the day of the reservation to confirm the room. When we arrived we were told that they gave our room up, however they had another room we could have. A smoking room..in the center. We refused the room. The counter woman who evidently had been there since it opened.. (she told me) was the rudest. We will never stay there again.

Disappointed
By ,
My husband and I just came back from a little getaway for the weekend. We were very disappointed with this hotel. We were told when we booked the hotel that the "DELUXE" room was with a view of the bay, there was no view of the bay just a view of the city. It was a very noisy room, there was construction going on across the street for a new pizza restaurant. The staff was also not very friendly. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The only thing good I can say is that the room was clean. The beds were very hard to sleep on.

Hotel w/FreeParking
By ,
My husband and I have been visiting San Francsico for over 14 years and we always stay at the Cow Hollow. If there is no availability, we check out her sister hotels (Chelsea & Conventry). This is one of a few hotels with on site parking with NO additional costs. An added benefit is if you catch the #30 bus, on Chestnut St, it will take you to Fisherman's Wharf, China Town and Union Square. Also, at Chestnut/Laguna you can catch the #28 bus to the Golden Gate Bridge. The neighborhood restaurants (Izzy's Steakhouse, Fuzio's, E'Angelo's, Crepes A Go-Go, Judy's, Asquew...gosh there are so many) are all you need to enjoy a great meal.

Hidden Jewel In The City!
By ,
My husband and I have been staying at Cow Hollow since the late 1990's! We have also brought guests on several trips with us and they were also impressed with the huge, clean rooms; ample, free & SECURE parking! We can walk down to the Marina, Crissy Field, Palace of the Fine Arts etc.. We catch the #31 Stockton bus on Chestnut St. (next street down) and go down to the Wharf to avoid the hefty parking fees down there! There is a very good restaurant connected to Cow Hollow for b'fast & lunch and the food is good and fairly priced for S.F. Across the street is Mel's Diner (of American Graffiti fame), but prices there have tripled since we started eating there in 1995! All in all, a great place to stay in an excellent location!
