Can't wait to go home

Our room had been upgraded, there was a flat screen tv, a sitting area, and the bathroom had wonderful tile and fixtures. That said, the burgundy carpet which I image they purchased so the stains would be hidden and they wouldn't have to keep it clean but it didn't work and the stains were pretty gross. The light colored love seat could have stood a good cleaning. I don't care much about amenities but cleanliness is very important and I think this doesn't deserve to be a Best Western.

Pleasantly Surprised

I think the hotel has been redecorated since some of the reviews were written. Our room had new carpet, tile, bedding and flat screen TV. Everything was spotless. We had a poolside room and could walk straight from our room out to the pool/hot tub. We were there during the week, so it wasn't loud. The breakfast room was very inviting. My son remembered the review that mentioned hard-boiled eggs. He was pleased to find them still available. We had dinner at the restaurant behind the hotel. The pizza was great. We had fun looking at all the old advertising signs on the walls. This hotel might not work out great for elderly travelers...Our room was on the "first" floor, but it was down a flight of stairs. There didn't appear to be any elevators or any way to access the room from the parking lot level without going downstairs.

No exvcuse for rudeness

My friend and I were traveling together on Harley's. When we went into the office to get a room, the clerk acted downright rude to both of us. We don't have to put up with attitude like that so we left since it seemed such an imposition for her to wait on us! It was a nice looking place and I expected better service from them. Sure was disappointing. This was April of 2006, so it's been fairly recent. We found a nice place just down the street from them. The people were friendly and rooms clean and nice. Pool & hot tub were enjoyable after our long ride and they had sweet rolls in office next morning. Coffee was in our rooms, so we were set to ride the next day after a good nights' sleep.

Won't Be Back

First impression was the discourteous desk clerk that acted as if she was doing us a favor by serving us. The room was dingy, and the toilet didn't work. We had to move to another room late in the evening. Free Breakfast was the regular fare. Room rates were expensive for this type of lodging.

Humbolt House Inn

Great Place to stop on your way north. Nice pool area. Clean. Very nice rooms. I like the older side by the pool with balconies.
