We stayed here about a week ago on business. We had two rooms, one for me and my fiance and one for our hired help. I called around prior to going to Sterling and got a rate of $280 a week for each room. When we got there they made us prepay for the full week, which was fine. During the week we had our hired man go out of state for two nights to pick up a piece of equipment for us. Before he left we asked the woman running is (who barely speaks any English) if we could get credit for the two nights that he was not there and she said yes. We turned the key in for his room, so that they could rent it out to someone else. We ended up getting more work in the area and needed to stay 3 more nights. We went to the front desk and she tried to tell me that it was going to $55 a night for each additional night. I showed her the receipt where she charged us $40 a night and she relented and charged us $45 a night for the additional nights. I asked her about getting the two nights credit that she promised and she said "one night" and would only give us one nights credit. When the additional three nights were up, we decided we would like to stay one more night and went to the front desk and she again tried to charge us $55 a night and I told her that first it was $40 a night and then she upped it to $45 and then she only gave us credit for one night instead of two on a room we had empty for two nights and that we even had some friends come and visit us and stayed here because of us. It didn't matter, she was adamant it would be $55 a night. She even tried to tell me that their normal rate is $65 a night. Needless, to say we checked out and went somewhere else. They have no pool, no continental breakfast. Their laundry room, only has one working washer and dryer. They do not use fabric softener in their towels. One day I counted 6 holes in my bath towel. It is hard to get the shower water adjusted, it runs hot and cold. Beware when you go into the office, because I went in there the one day and their pet dog was loose and was nipping at my ankles. We travel on the road for 3 months every year during the summer and we will not stay here again next year, nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone. Seems they like to take advantage of people.
