Castle Inn, Rapid City

I was here almost a year ago with my Dad. It was VERY afordable, a decent location, the rooms were big & clean, we liked the fact that there was a microwave & fridge in the room, & the front desk clerk was very helpful & friendly. The only thing I would suggest is some updates...such as carpet, paint, furniture, linens, fixtures, & bathroom...dont get me wrong, it was a great little place for the money, just a bit out of date.

When I was there in Oct. 2007 the afternoon clerk was on the phone all the time. I had to wait for her to finish her conversation till she would wait on me. The rest of the staff was very pleasant and the rooms were very clean and I loved the idea of having a kitchen in the room to cook not just a microwave.

The people that work here are sooo nice...We didn't have much to do the day so they gave us options and helped us alot. We've been there twice and each time is just as great :D Cant wait to see them again

We will stay at this hotel. The rooms are huge, the beds comfortable. You also get a frige, and microwave and the room was clean and quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great value for the price.

I stayed at this hotel in late June. My first impression was a good one, the room was nice, if the decor was a little dated, and was clean overall. However, after staying a few days, things started to go wrong. Maids left a big pile of laundry in my room, and the guy that came to get it was odd, smelled of body odor, and barefoot. The hallways reeked of a marijuana smell in the morning. The door to my room wouldn't lock on its own, I had to pull on it until I heard it click and that also made it hard to unlock and open. The pool is okay, a little small. I might stay here again, but I'd really think twice.

this hotel had HUGE rooms with a microwave and a fridge for less then 60 dollars a night for a family of 5. heated pool with helpful friendly staff. very clean and neat. a little hard to find but once you are use to where it is, it is easy to get to from anywhere.

The rooms were very clean and nice. Office staff was very friendly. Pool was clean. Only stayed one night but would have stayed longer if we didn't have to fly out. Would definitely stay again. It is NOT in a bad neighborhood like some reviews have said.

We stayed here during the Sturgis Rally this year- they got us a ground floor room instead of the second floor one we had, so we could keep an eye on our bikes, but we didn't really need it, as we had no problems with the area. The room we had was clean and the office staff was very helpful in recommending places to eat and see. The manager must ride also, as he had his bike there and seemed to know some good loops to make. They wouldn't take a room reservation for next year before we left, but did say we'd get our room at the same rate as last year and we could have the same room, so we'll be there again for the '08 Rally.

The only problem we had with this motel is that it was really hard to open the door when it was locked and it was hard to lock the door. If you get room 16 you will see why. Other than that the staff is very friendly, the pool is nice and they make sure the rooms are clean. Very affordable and right in the middle of shopping. I would recommend this motel to anyone who is on a budget and wants a great value.

Room was NOT Clean at all. Sheets had hair all over them and stained. Pillow cases had hairs and stains on them. Toliet was filthy had not been cleaned. Bathroom floor was muddy. Tub had hair and dirt in it. Trash was not emptied. Over all TERRIBLE. We should get our money back. Would NEVER stay there again. Look for different place to stay. It is worth the extra money Trust Me. Terrible. YUCK
