plan on comin back

I like the place because of the friendly staff. I don't like the fact that they charge so much for local calls. They should have one set rate.

Crackheads and whores oh my!
By shud I tell, 08/21/09
There is nothing to like about this place and I'm pretty sure the owner wrote the good reviews himself. This is a motel that whores turn tricks and drug dealers sell crack if your into that then this is the place for you if not run run as fast as you can.

Ummmm......NO
By Tiggerific30, 09/02/08
Aqua City was a disappointment. Due to the republican convention being in town during our stay in Mnpls. we were forced to stay at this motel. First of all is was $90 for a room!....way overpriced. Once I payed my money and went to park, I was greeted by what loked like 4 hookers getting into a cab and leaving. I found my room and was sad to discover that my quiet night was not going to happen. The door next door was having one heck of a party going on and the people seemed to actually live there! I entered my room and turned around to lock it and there was NO other lock, other than the doorknob lock....so safety latch, chain or anything. I went to pull the only chair up to the door for extra support, but was astonished to discover it was already doing it's job barricading the door conecting to the "party room" next to mine! The room looked clean enough, until I dropped the remote and went to retrive it. I had to turn on the lamp between beds and discovered Taco Bell wrappers shoved behind the night stand....I then found open beer cans under the edge of the bed. My poor daughter got bitten by bedbugs or something from her bed that night, but I was lucky enough to leave that motel unscathed. What motel should be called Aqua City when there is NO POOL??? Of course, I am not entirely sure I would have swum in the pool there, had there been one to swim in! I won't be back!!!

Swimming pool?
By stacey, 01/17/08
This was, undoubtedly, the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in dozens of cheap motels across the country. I had read the other reviews about the filth and thought they must be exaggerating. I am a college student on a budget and just needed a room for the night after a concert so decided to take my chances as the price and location were great. I was pleasantly suprised when I pulled in and found a clean parking lot with lots of nicely planted flowers. I should of slept in the parking lot. The room was disgusting and I did not take my shoes off during the 14 hours I was there. The room faced west and with no AC was ungodly hot. The door lacked the universal chain lock so I couldn't crack it open for ventilation. When I tried to open the blinds to get to the windows the rotten cord disintegrated in my hands. Luckily someone had smashed a 4 inch by 4 inch hole in the window facing the alley so I got some air and felt oh so safe. Why didn't I just take a dip in the pool? The pool is tarped over and looks like it has been that way for years. Who wants to swim in August anyway? Back to the room. Electric and cable cords were tucked inside the electric heater, I'm not sure why they were out of the way because no one had vacuumed along the heater for at least a year. The ceiling lamp shade over the bed was broken in half, I don't know how it stayed up but I waited all night for it to fall on me and cut me in my sleep. The bathroom light fixture was so mold encrusted I wondered how it kept working. I didn't have to wonder long because the (only) bathroom light quit working about 3 hours after I had been there. At least the bathroom floor is clean now because the shower curtain was so moldy I wouldn't touch it so the floor got soaked by the shower. Did I mention the mysterious brown liquid that covered the wall next to the bed? I do have to admit that the sheets and towels were clean. When the phone in my room didn't work (you have to request it be turned on)the front staff was helpful in calling me a cab. However a man, with a jar of change and talking about God, and his junky girlfriend were in the lobby and the front staff had me tell them which room I was in then loudly told the cab company. Nothing like announcing to junkies that my room will be empty for at least the next hour and I wondered if my things would still be there when I got back. My things were still there and the hotel was quiet all night but I will not stay there again.

the owners are helpful and nice, no problems when you ask them for anything, and cheap rates. the only problem is the other kinds of people that stay there from time to time, loud and strung-out types.

it was dirty and very rude worker.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/06
first of all the room was very very dirty and there was hardly any housekeeping unless you ask for it and the houskeeping doesn't seems like they know what they are doing. secondly they employee were very rude they seems like they have no respect to any customers any way. third i felt like employee over there don't understand what we are asking most of the time. whenever i come to office to ask something there is nobody there most of the time.
