awesome diamond in the rough
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/28/11
Ok its 2011 now; i read the old reviews, and must say things have changed. The management is new,and the place isn't as bad as it sounds. Its not embassy suites, but it has many good points. Inexpensive, close as hell to everything, shuttle service by both hotel and contract local bus,a kick butt pool area,a decent play area and courtyard, basic workout equipment, laundry areas, snacks, etc. The rooms are ok, i havent had to much bad luck- to me it feels like a small apartment setup. And let me say if something does not work- the staff has fixed every issue right away. I like it, and i really see the place as a secret paradise people miss out on because of either past practices or because it does not have the words Crowne Plaza on its name. The money you save here allows you to spend more on the attractions-its awesome : )

DO NOT STAY HERE!
By JESSICA S, 9/24/10
First of all one particular staff member was RUDE and that is putting it mildly. The room smelled, it was hot and the shower curtain had mold on it. The room had fleas. The fan on the wall between rooms didn't work so our room was hot and they gave us a fan to blow on us all nite which then gave us all a cold. The TV didn't work in the bedroom, some in the living and other room but we had to call someone and they changed TV's but the one station that didn't work was the one we wanted to watch a football game on so we had to leave the room. They have directv..what the hell? I finally got to speak to the manager the next day and was told I would be refunded but am still waiting to get my money. Just called this morning and was spoken to rudely. The lady (Cindy) didn't even want to take my info down as she told me "I'm sure he has it"..geez. I have a feeling this was the same person who on Sunday said she had no way of getting the manager on the phone when we first made our complaint. I'm disgusted at the service. Even check in took an hour and the same check in person was so rude to everyone in line. She hollered at employees in the back to see if a room was ready etc. NO customer service. We stayed there so we could go to the Cowboys game the next day. Next time we will pay the freaking 75 dollar parking to avoid staying at a dump like this. I DO NOT recommend this place. If I get my money refunded I will gladly come back on here and update that. However lucky for me I have family in the law business. Its the principle. You pay almost 200 bucks for a one night visit you expect good service. A hotel room should be a home away from home even if its for one night. I don't know anyone that keeps their home like this...just sayin. I cannot stress enough..save your money and go elsewhere! The location is great if you are going to the game, everything else sucks. Oh ya lest I forget the elevator was really hot which its outside I guess so that is reasonable? but it smelled so bad. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! Oh and the other reviews who say its outdated...yes it is. Our micro had a dial on it too. How primitive:)

just... no. absolutely horrible.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/16/09
are you kidding me? this is the worst hotel/motel/inn i have ever stayed at. i'll start off in my room: i got a ground level floor right in front of the courtyard, so i figured i would have a place to hang out... but it was obscenely dirty. no place to hang out :( my room sucked. the couch had like three white stains on it. (lets not discuss how/when/why), the fan leading from the front section of the room to the second did not work, leaving the room with both beds REALLY hot. and i couldn't sleep on the couch... the TV had like ten channels, three of which in Spanish. and the table it stood upon had a giant hole in the bottom of it. i would have laughed had it collapsed. the bathroom was alright, but the shower head had one super angry jet in the middle that made me itch... not sure why though. now onto the design... anyone know the hustle? this room was definitely made in the 70s. the coffee maker held half a cup of coffee, the microwave used a dial (who knew those still existed???) the fridge was discolored, the heating plates didn't sit right. but worst of all? THE SINK FAUCET LEAKED. as for the pool, it was not hot and the light in the pool was left out with the bottom hanging in the pool itself. i work as a pool technician, and i know this is both a safety hazard, and against the law. Overall? They will never see me again. :D

Will never stay again !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/18/08
I visited the hotel in may of 2008.First of all it took me over an hour to get checked in due to employee lack of knowledge.the rooms were very small and not fancy at all.I stayed in the two bedroom suite.one of the rooms had no air conditioning at all.The pull out sofa was totally ruined.Upon check out which also took about forty five minutes I finally got a reciept which i had to demand after paying.About a week later the supervisor of the hotel calls me on my cell phone saying that i left owing twenty four dollars.I told her no that i had a reciept with a zero balance due.She argued with me that i was undercharged and was not charged the state tax which showed on my reciept that i was charged.I then told her that i was not paying her another penny because i had a reciept saying all fees were paid. She called me dishonest.i told her dont call my phone again.

Ouch, Rate Change
By Lea, 4/28/08
Ouch, loved everything about the hotel but the change in price. I called and got a rate over the phone for a two day stay. When I went to check out the rate had changed drastically by over $30 a night. I was quoted one thing and then charged another. My pocketbook took a beating and when I asked if they could do anything about it, they said, "Sorry, just pay your bill." I won't be staying there again.

Turn back now
By Terry, 4/27/08
The only good thing about this place is location. If you're only interested in Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor or catching a Ranger's game it's not a bad place, but if you want better accomodations I would deifinetly look elsewhere. The bad...continental breakfast....uh, atleast they have orange juice. The biscuits were old, the waffles had no texture and there was no fruit or meat. The pool needs to be cleaned. The room was outdated and felt dirty, and the room next door was being romodeled. There were 2 movie channels in the room (both HBO), and only 1 of the channels had audio. There were 12 channels total, and no On-Demand or any pay-per-view entertainment. The TV's are old and all the images are distorted. I will never stay at a Country Inn and Suites again. I will pay the money for a better hotel, or I will make a longer drive....anything to avoid this place.

Not Impressed....At All
By Jason, 6/1/06
I'm not sure where to begin. First off, their computer system must have major problems. We reserved a few rooms for a reunion and later we were told (leading up to the event) that they had NO reservations for us (after they had been confirmed) then they had 8 rooms reserved (too many) and then that they had canceled our reservations (this was at check-in)!! They also had given one of the ground floor rooms that was supposed to be reserved for us to another group. We had rooms reserved together, but ended up with one group on the third level. We also reserved the Arlington Room for our get together. It was not anything special, and will not fit 75 people like their site says. The restrooms were small and at one point we were out of toilet paper with no one to replace it. The AC...well, lets just say that it wasn't completely out of order, but hardly worked. The "cool" air coming out of the vents was just about non-existent. We called the office, but it was never resolved. We were also told that we could stay in the room as long as we wanted (we tend to last until 1 or 2 in the morning) but were surprised when we were told to leave at midnight. The communication between the staff and management is horrible. The management was rude and not accomodating while the staff was relatively pleasant. WE WILL NOT RETURN! Take your money elsewhere!

Very hospitable, needs maintenance though.
By Ami, 7/22/05
The staff were very hospitable & quick to accomadate with our needs. It would be a lot nicer with some maintenance. It is a straight shot from Six Flags & Hurricane Harbor. It is best suitable for a family stay. The 2 bedroom suite we stayed in was nice. The pool is only up to about 4 1/2 feet deep though.

Not What was Advertised
By Barbara, 6/4/05
We went to Six Flags for the day and booked the Country Inn so we wouldn't have to drive back home (2 hours). It was a very short drive to the hotel (The hotel is also very close to Hurrican Harbor). We had a king bedroom with a sleeper sofa for the kids (8 and 10). We also had a small kitchen which we didn't use since it was just overnight. We liked the fact that there were 2 TV's so we wouldn't have to watch "kid" shows. The breakfast did have "make your own" waffles along with bagels, muffins, cereal, and toast, but it did not have other things. We were told (and read) that breakfast had fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs (receptionist told me this) and yogurt. There was one flavor of yogurt and no fruit or eggs. When I asked if there were any eggs, all I got was a scoffing "No, no, no!" The brochure also advertises a "Manager's Social Hour" Monday-Thursday, but the paper you get when you check in says the social hour is Wednesday only. Other "little" things: There were no clocks around so it was hard to tell what time it was in the middle of the night. The bathtub looked as if it had been patched up with one big patch across the bottom and a few small patches on the sides. The air conditioner was in the living room with just a small fan in the wall to the bedroom to bring the cool air in. The living room had to be freezing so the bedroom could be cool. The pool was very warm but noticeably dirty. We paid $90 (after taxes) which was too much.

Out of the way, but worth it.
By Ben, 6/1/05
The staff service at this hotel was great. I had a room on the ground floor, but the ice machine in my area didn't work. The room was great with the exception of the couch (too hard and too small), but it was more then I had hoped for. The room cleaning service was outstanding. I live like a pig and they fixed it up so well I had to check my room number to make sure I was in the right room. The biggest complaint I have is the access to the hotel. It's on an out of the way service road that if you didn't plan ahead you could get into trouble getting on it. It's also too narrow and in disrepair in places. But this is not the hotel's fault. It's the city of Arlington's. Over all, now I know how to get there, it's a great place and I do plan to go back. Thank you.
