Uncaring staff, feces in room, unreliable wifi

I think that this is the only motel in Universal City and we chose it because we had a family funeral at a nearby military facility. We've stayed at Super8s in other states without issue in the past, but this place was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at (and I've traveled globally with some pretty crazy experiences). The first room we were in had a broken TV and a rusty chip in the bathtub. We couldn't get the wifi to work and the front desk attendant said that it usually doesn't work! Don't expect to be able to get work done here. The second room we were moved to had fecal matter on the bedspread right up by our heads. This was appalling and disgusting. We complained as soon as it was discovered, only to have the front desk clerk hang up on us as she said "I ain't got nothin' to do with that. I'll send the housekeeping manager over." The housekeeping manager didn't bother to apologize, she laughed when she saw the large spot and rolled her eyes. We were distraught, upset, unable to sleep and ended up purchasing sheets from a store so that we could bear our stay. We called the corporate office to complain and they made us hopeful that we would have heard from someone while we were there, but it has been five business days since calling them with no response yet. The room keys deactivated every day and the staff insisting on blaming us (even though we know not to put our room key by a magnetic area -- such as a cell phone, store anti-theft system, etc.). Be prepared to go to the front desk every day after 11 to get your keys reset and be treated like dirt by the staff. I would not recommend this motel to anyone, particularly if you have children. The rooms are unsanitary. Opt to stay in a motel or hotel in nearby Selma, Schertz or even San Antonio, even if that means you have to drive back into Universal City.
