Nice romantic get away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/25/08
My wife and I wanted an affordable alternative to the crowded and congested motels on the parkway in Gatlinburg for our anniversary and found Rainbow Cabin Rentals on the web. We stayed in the one bedroom cabin #5. You get your key at their office on US 321 and then go to the cabin. The cabin is conveniently located on a wooded hillside above light #2 off the parkway (US 441) in Gatlinburg making it very convenient to go to Pigeon Forge. You could walk down the hill and go to the parkway but we choose to drive down. The cabin was absolutely beautiful, very clean and well taken care of. It had about everything you would need for week’s getaway including a stove, refrigerator, , microwave, coffee maker, dishes, towels, utensils to cook with, shampoo, soap, etc. The cabin is air conditioned and has a ceiling fan above the main room. The cabin’s website www.rainbowlogcabinrentals.com has pictures. You can book online though many times I got a message that the service was unavailable. You can always call their number and the owners are very nice. I liked the high vaulted ceiling in the main room because it gave a nice open feel that you could not get in a motel room. The bathroom just has a shower and toilet and the sink area is just outside the bathroom door and has two sinks. The wooden ceiling and large wooden slabs on the exterior walls gave the place that “log cabin” feel. The in-room Jacuzzi was wonderful and the fireplace looked inviting though we did not use since we were there in July. It had a TV with cable and a VCR/DVD player attached. There was a chest of drawers and a night stand to put things in as well as a closet. The porch overlooked a wooded hillside and had two rocking chairs and swing. The price that we got was actually cheaper than some of the motels on the parkway. On the negative side it does not have a mountain view and you get some of the parkway noise when on the porch. We really did not notice it much inside. Also our mattress, though fairly comfortable, “squeaked” and could use an upgrade. I mentioned this to the owners upon checking out so it may be taken care of by now. The eating space is a small counter with bar stools. Overall we were very pleased and would consider visiting again. If you don’t care about a mountain view and want an affordable alternative to a motel room it would be great.

Sold the motel
By RebeccaC, 07/14/07
This is misleading. We called about the $30 rate, and she said that the motel part was sold last year and you can only rent the cabins for $130. That was for 2 adults and 2 kids. We did not stay at this location. We just called about it. I'm sure it's nice but yahoo wouldn't let us just post on it.

Fall Break
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/20/07
My son and myself stayed for a weekend in the fall of 06 and it was great. It was very very clean and well taken care of. We enjoyed every minute of it. We wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely stay again. You won't be disappointed.

As Good As It Gets
By Serena, 01/11/07
I stayed here twice in the summer of 06 and absolutly loved the place. It is so clean and the staff is great! But the best thing about this cozy little motel is the super affordable prices. I will be going back to Gatlinburg in April and will definatly be staying at the Rainbow Motel again!

Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/05
What a great motel. I booked based on price and was surprised at how nice and VERY clean the rooms were. It is a very charming motel, like stepping back to a better time. Location is great. I'm planning another trip to Gatlinburg and will definitely be staying at the Rainbow Motel. If you're planning a trip to Dollywood stay here in Gatlinburg - it's a short ten minute drive and much more pleasant and less stressful than fighting the traffic and crowds in Pigeon Forge.

Great Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/04
This was our first time to the area. This motel was great. We had stay in Pigeon Forge for 3 nights and decided to extend our stay and moved to this motel. It was a better view, cleaner rooms, and the price was cheaper. We will be back.

THis is one of the cleanest places you can stay in the Smokies. My husband and I always stay here and we really love this place and the people who take care of you there!
