"Bates" motel?
By Satisfied Customer, 06/09/08
I unfortunately went by internet reviews of this place and was totally shocked when I checked in. There were insects in the bathroom, dirty linens, and a smell that was really hard to describe. The staff at the check-in was totally rude (besides being hard to understand)... I was given no alternatives other than the fact that I could come back to this dump on another date! Needless to stay, I checked in elsewhere and lost all of my money. Again, this place it a total DUMP!!!! DO NOT stay here!!!!

Good Value
By Jenni, 08/17/06
Nothing screams out about this place- its pretty ordinary, but the price is right. The rooms and furnishings are old, but acceptable. Its all single story with direct access to rooms. Breakfast is pretty light- but there if you are desperate. Good value. No hassles from locals... no matter how you dress ;-)

Holiday Weekend Secret
By Mark, 05/24/06
Great place to stay for holiday weekends, no crowds at pool or hottub. Very reasonable rates, older but clean. We are staying again this summer for the third time.

hope i never have to stay here again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/21/05
What a terrible experience this was for us, if you want to know what motels were like in the late 40s early 50s, then this is your place.they have a 3 day cancelation policy, why? because when you see what you booked, you will want to cancel. I would rather stay in a pop up camper.

Clean, just the basics
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/05
Clean room, all the basics, plus a recliner chair. Nice outside pool area, large trees shelter it from the nearby road. Breakfast very meager; bagels, small danish, juice & coffee. Overall, a good value for this toursit area.

give them a try:)
By Deb, 05/19/05
I stayed there last July and found the motel itself to be an older one with lots of upgrades........nice outdoor pool, jacuzzi. The rooms were clean and the service was outstanding. New owners were the most flexible and accomodating that I have experienced in Saugatuck!!
