A Real Nightmare

Upon arrival this seemed like it might be a nice place. After unpacking I was trying to move a floor lamp away from the table so I could sit there when the lamp literally fell apart. It would not screw back together, so asked for another lamp. They brought one, and at first were going to leave the broken one in the room, but they finally took it. There was a noisy family reunion going on in the pool area with loud kids just outside my door and loud music in the pool area till 11:15 when I complained, and the mgt turned off the music. In going to bed, my bed spread had a stale unpleasant smell, so I had them change the bedding about 11:45. I killed a spider on the wall just next to my bed just after that. I got woke up about 3 times at night by a little weird electric sound, which was not really an alarm sound. Originally, I thought it came from the phone, but later I decided it came from the sunbeam clock radio, in a random manner. The next day the clerk said she had stayed in a room one night and knew what I was talking about. It makes me wonder why she didn't take any action for her customers. The road noise from the interstate bled into my room and was disturbing. The next morning I dutifully wrote out my complaints and they gave me a free pass for a future stay. But I don't think I am brave enough to take them up on their offer. This motel has seem better days and need some attention to modernization. I would not recommend it to anyone and I do not plan to use their free consolation pass.
