The New Harmony Inn, New Harmony

The New Harmony Inn is the only place I've found in many years where one can actually relax. If you are looking for a night life and excitment this is not the place for you. But, if relaxaion is what you are seeking look no further. I found the rates to be fair, and I will be planning a return visit on a regular basis.

If you want a weekend of rest,relaxation, and some reflection, this is the place. This a an historic town without any schlock. It's genuine. Bordered by the Wabash River, the town is very walkable. It has good restaurants, interesting shops, antique stores, art galleries, museums... The Inn has very nice rooms (ask for room #139, it's their best one) with wood floors and some have sleeping lofts and balconies overlooking a small pond. It's one of the best towns in the Midwest for a 3-day weekend, especially for couples. For kids, the inn has a pool and the downtown (two blocks away) has a small movie theater.
