Scot Wood Motel, Washburn

Was hoping to have 10 people stay here for a pheasant hunt this year as we've always had fun in Washburn, but while trying to book the rooms I was hung up on twice by a seemingly arrogant and uneducated elderly female clerk at the front desk (weekday shift). She made a point to go on and on about certain room numbers that were available.....which is irrelevant to me as it's a small hotel and I really don't care what room number I'm staying in......and when I asked her to simply let me know how many beds the room had and if it was non-smoking, she replied that I was a difficult caller and then just lazily gave up and arrogantly said "sorry all of the rooms are booked" and then hung up on me. I called back and mentioned that we must have had a bad connection, to which she said "we're sold out" and hung up again. I stay in hotels 2-3 days a week in Western ND and SD and have never had such a lazy, bitter woman be in charge of CUSTOMER SERVICE as this woman was. Disappointing experience. Luckily we stayed in Riverdale and gave them a ton of business. We love Washburn, but the Scot Wood is lacking qualified people to handle the phones. Thumbs down........

The bathroom was clean, the sheets seemed clean. We had to ask for extra pillows because the pillows were pathetic. The window was filthy, the floor appeared to be filthy. Internet access was too weak in the room and had to go to lobby to use. There are smoking rooms in the hotel and when the residents of those rooms light up, the smoke goes through the entire hotel, including into our room which stunk. I think they try to spray the halls to mask the odors because when we arrived the halls had a sickening sweet odor which was later replaced by smoke. It was cheap and it was convenient for us at the moment, but not sure I'd stay again. Was scared all night long that one of the smokers would smoke in bed and catch the place on fire.

new carpet Nov 2009--new tub/shower combos 2010...fridges in the rooms--microwave in the lobby along with coffee!! Great rates along Hwy 83 between Minot and Bismarck!

THE bedding was filthy the sheets had not been changed from the people that stayed there the night before. They were full of pecker tracks. All they did was pull up the sheets and made the bed. NO CLEAN BEDDING. The fridge needed to be defrosted. Your web page says there is a restaurant in hotel what a joke,there is none. All they said was I am sorry can't do anything about it all the papper work has been faxed in. They better train their staff to change bedding. I do not know if you are that nasty to sleep in other peoples filth but I am not one that will.
