What should be a great place to stay was wrecked for my wife & I by very rude & unfriendly staff. Amy at the front desk was the worst & seemed like she just wanted to argue & be sarcastic rather than offer any help whatsoever. I almost walked out to search for another hotel with nicer people, but decided not to because I was tired & didn't want the hassle of driving around in an unfamiliar city. The room was nice. The only complaint I have about the room is that there was a garbage that had not been emptied. It contained an old take-out container full of chicken wings that was getting smelly. I normally would have called the front desk to have someone come & clean it up, but after the experience of dealing with them minutes earlier, I absolutely did not want to talk to them again. So I found a dumpster outside & cleaned the garbage out myself. I am a business owner, and if an employee was treating my customers the way that Amy & the other girls at the front desk treated me, I would fire them. I think that with a change of some employees, or some training in customer service at the least, this would be a nice place to stay, but until that happens, I would not go there again. There's lots of other nice hotels out there with much nicer people.

I stayed at the motel for about a month while I was visiting Rockford. When I checked in at the motel's off-season rate, the manager told me, "don't worry, you are locked in at that rate for your stay." However, without notice and with less than 45 minutes before checkout, the front desk clerk told me that starting that night the rate would be more than $30 more (per night). I called the manager, who denied having promised the rate I had been paying. So I called the corporate customer relations department, an employee of which told me the $30 more isn't even one of the motel's weekly rates. The corporate office refused to act in an expedited manner, and in fact did not call me back before 2pm, after which I would have been charged for the night. I concluded that the manager had been dishonest to maximize her revenue as business was picking up, and that the corporate "customer relations" dept was more interested in its procedures than in responding in a timely matter befitting the lack of notice I had been given.

Service... Good, Polite, helpful Convieniant location comfortable room Maid service minimal(none)new towels and soap only. No cleaning or beds made or linen change. TV buzzed on some channels Ok overall

service desk staff is wonderful.helpful for directions and quick to handle any problems. they are very reasonable on their rates.betty berkeley dixon, il
