Not Ever again Not even for free!
By Vinny, 5/29/12
This was my first time to Ocean City, and I am sorry to say I will never return because o this motel. One set of elevators for both guest and staff to use, so you get to smell everyones garbage. One set of bothrooms located down staires off the kicthen for the outside area and pool erea with nice long lines, and one of the male memebers of the maitenance staff enter the ladys room while my wife ans several other ladys where using itwhen I complained to front dest they Oh he was just helping the cleaning woman! Not enough parking for handicapped and other people taking those spots they did have and office did not care, they just removed the signs so any body could park! just one bad thing after another Piss poor way to run a hotel!!!!!

Never Again!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/31/11
We have been vacationing in OC yearly since 1988. Have tried several hotels during that time, this year we tried the castle in the sand. Hotel looks nice from pictures, but that's about it. Its old, and has not been updated. Balconies are small. Wi-Fi does not stay connected, Cells phone only worked outside of the grounds. TV channels are limited. Nice restraunt but it only serves breakfast and for dinner (sandwiches and such) is served on the patio, so if it rains(it is closed) or if its hot you will not be comfortable. Nice size parking lot, but rarely will you get close to your building. The bar is at the outside patio so image drinking and 90 degree heat......a lot of vomit!!!! Ice machines did not work on some of the floors, the washer and dryer looked like they were left overs from the 70's. The banquet room is in the basement of one of the buildings, down the hall from the laundry!! There is much better in Ocean City for the price......keep looking.

No frills
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/9/10
This hotel is by far no frills. However, what it lacks in frills it makes up for in its cleanliness and customer service. I see families there year after year that stay the same week we do. I love Coconuts beach Bar as well. They have lots of local entertainment to keep you humming. You have to try a Tipsy Turtle while there.

Great Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/23/10
This is an older hotel, so if you have very high standards you may be disappointed. We've stayed many times and have never had an issue as some of the other rates noted. The rooms have always been clean (occasional missed piece of trash, but minor), staff friendly and helpful, and they have helped our non-profit with donations previously, so that is much appreciated. The kids activities during the summer, free, and not to be missed. Magicians, face painting, contests, etc. Great fun for all ages. Pools are wonderful and large. Restaurant and pool bar has great selections and food. Bar service at your spot on the beach - just give you room number and they'll bill to your room! No need to carry money with you. The rooms are large and very comfortable for a family. Two TV's so that's wonderful in itself! Oceanfront rooms with a balcony are my favorites - and if you have kids - definitely worth the extra money. Look online at their website for coupons, and the restaurant normally has coupons in the Sunny Day catalog.

Look forward to the vacation NOT the hotel
By wook, 4/6/10
I have been coming to The Castle with my family for 9 years, and my extended family has been coming for a few decades. We look forward to being together as a family but the Management needs to wake up and realize if they don't get their act together they are going to lose alot of business. The rooms barely ever have any updates made to them. I am not asking them to redo the whole establishment but come on replace some things once in awhile. Instead of giving gifts to repeat guest that have been coming for 5+ years take that money and fix something. After the off season the rooms need to be THUROUGHLY cleaned, not just going in and putting a trash bag in the can. The things that this place does have going for it are it's wonderful kids activity program with the most wonderful instructors you will ever meet (they are like family), the location (right on the beach) and the huge pool. I would hate to miss out on this family vacation but if things don't change this year we will not be back. Just incase the management never sees this we did send a letter and spoke in person last year regarding our concerns.
