Tidewater Motel, Hayes

----Bottom line is to go another 8 miles down the road, across the York River, and get your room at an American owned and operated----- Travelers Motel, 9121 Hwy 17, Yorktown, Virginia----It was only $43/night for 2 as opposed to $55/night for 2 at Tidewater We were making repairs on our boat and this place was convenient. I figured, how bad can it be? I signed in and got my key and the room was tiny and hot. I turned on the AC window unit and it would not blow cold air sufficient to cool the room. I went back to the office told them to cancel my charge. They did so and after leaving, I realized that I had left my phone. They had it in the office and the lady that another person referred to as the soap nazi, complained about me costing them $2 and made me pay them $2 to get my phone back. I was willing to let bygones be bygones until that point. Now here I am.
