Beachview Inn, Clearwater Beach

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! the good reviews here must have been rated by the staff because this place is really bad!!!.. I reserved an ocean view/pool view room. When we arrived there we went up to the room all excited. When we got to the room the room that we got was a tiny room with a parking lot view..We went to the front desk to tell them that this was the wrong room and they told us thats all they had because of the boat races and the hotel was full. So the room that i reserved online wasn't available so they put us in this little crappy room and for the same price. So they did a bait and switch on us. The air conditioner didn't work. The manager came up and gave us a fan for the night. That was her solution. The television didn't work either. It was a horrible experience and I will be sure to tell others not to stay here!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Great location, right across the street from the Beach and Pier 60. Woke up twice, on two different nights, at 3a.m to the sound of leaf blowers and edge trimmers! I do not know if this is something the hotel scheduled of if it was just "city" landscaping at the time. The king sized bed was about as comfortable as sleeping in a sleeping bag on a rock! The bed was terrible!! The toilet ran all night unless you jiggled the handle everytime you used the bathroom. Our window by the bed was missing the screen, so we could only open the patio door on nice days for fresh air, and since the bed was furthest from the patio door, the bed area got pretty warm for sleeping. When we used the air conditioner, it made this awful "clunking" noise when shutting off and turning back on again. The room was clean and everything worked. Staff was nice. We didn't attempt the "continental b-fast". View was great! We would not stay here again, I do not recommend this hotel. The only thing worth the money, is the location of the hotel.

Let me start off by saying that the only reason I gave this hotel a "2 stars" is because of the location. It is located right across the street from the beach, therefore, it was walking distance and convenient for us. Also, we didn't spend much time at the hotel at all. Our stay was very disappointing. Here are the reasons: -The staff was very rude: Our room wasn't ready when we got there, which was fine since it was before 3pm, but the lady at the counter wasn't very friendly about it. Didn't make me feel very comfortable about asking her any questions at all. - When we finally got our room, the air was not working. They do not have central air at the hotel, just a little AC unit by the window. It was blowing warm air into the room, we were sweating... We called the front desk and they sent someone to look at it right away. The lady called us and told us they would fix it but it would take a couple of hours- I told her right away to please do something, because, we were sweating really bad AND the shower barely had COLD water (that also had to be fixed). It was cooler outside than in our room. The front desk lady said she didn't have another room for us to stay in so she couldn't do anything about it. She said we could "hang out" in another room for a couple of hours, that was it, which obviously wasn't convenient for us. - Their website advertises wireless internet: Couldn't get our laptop to connect to the internet so we called the front desk for them to tell us that the internet doesn't work in the rooms because of the concrete walls and that we needed to go out on the pool deck to be able to connect. Went out several times to try and connect, we were never able to... so we asked some of our neighbors and they told us we have to go downstairs close to the router to be able to connect- Keep in mind, we are on vacation, who wants to go downstairs to use the internet when our room is upstairs..? - The room/bathroom were both dirty. Towels had holes in them. - The water for the sink & shower smelled extremely bad. - Breakfast: Well... we understand and weren't expecting bacon, eggs... but it literally consisted of bagels, coffee & cereal. So, if you don't like coffee, you were out of luck and couldn't drink anything with your breakfast- no juice... - We called the front desk and told them that we were expecting some kind of credit. We clearly told them we didn't want a free night but at least $30 off or something for the fact that we came in with no air, the shower wasn't working properly and the internet not working... the lady said she would talk to the manager and he refused to give us any kind of credit- Their customer service is terrible!

We love love love The BeachView Inn. My husband and I have been vacationing there for the last 6 years. The staff is great and the price of rooms is excellent. It is very clean and the view cant be beat. Walking distance to the beach, Pier 60, restaurants and shopping. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere other than BeachView Inn. Last summer we took our parents and our grandkids and everyone had the best time! We go on vacation to have fun! We will definately be booking a room there again this summer!!! See you in July!!

Yes i stayed at the Beachview Clearwater Beach Fl Sat night May 21st 2011. I had the worst Stay ever. I complained at the Hotel and I was told i have to talk to Priceline. I have never stayed at a hotel So Dirty in my life. My Tables were all Dusty. The Sheets smelled and there were like crumbs in the bed. The fridge had rust inside and out. I had only 8 tv channels no cartoons for the kids..The bathroom door did not close. The capret was sooooo Dirty i would not put my Bags down on it.. The free beakfest that was offerd the 1st thing me and my children grabbed was out of date. I got a picture of it the hotel claimed that was the package date. No one the usa would beleive that!.. There was also a huge party up stairs that kept me and my family awake all night..

I thought the location could not be better for the beach and the walk to the pier. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful. The room which we had was overlooking the pool and ocean view. My only complaint about the room was that the carpet could be a little cleaner. They did have to drain the pool because of maintenance problems but it was refilled within 2 days but of course who really needs a pool when you have an ocean. Once the pool was filled the view of pool and ocean really was beautiful. Sunsets right off our balcony was great. The breakfast was ok, but nothing less or more that I expected. Did not see any bugs anywhere in the hotel which for me is always a plus in Florida. I would stay again

Standard room was sub-standard.Small room. Small bathroom. No chair to sit in or table to eat at. Appliances not plugged in. No clock radio (did get one). Walkway outside window like a fishbowl. Very poor television channels. No movies. Poor reception. No computer in lobby to get boarding pass. Had to have clerk get it. Continental breakfast was very poor. No bread, no milk second day. Packaged danish. Day clerks were a little rude, but probably only because I complained about the room so much. Room was very expensive for size and quality. Finally got moved to a new room 2nd day. It was much bigger. Patio with view of Gulf. Kitchenette that wasn't needed. Telephone didn't work (was replaced by really nice female clerk on Friday, the 11th's evening shift). Drunks tried to get in room at 11:25pm on Friday night. Drunk walking down the walkway talking with echoing voices at 2:10am. The male clerk Wednesday, the 9th and Thursday, the 10th was very nice and helpful (with radio) This is a place for college kids to drink and get drunk.

Spent Labor Day weekend here. Great location to the public beach. Nice view. Piece of crap hotel. Not bad if you don't mind sewage from the room above you dripping (more like running) on your head in the bathroom. AC not working properly the first night. Second day AC soaked the carpet with condensation. Third and fourth day began the showers from above. Yuk. Couldn't even shower or use our own toilet unless you didn't mind sitting in used water. Sent someone to fix promptly while we were trying to get ready to go out to a nice restaurant (without showers or able to use the restroom). Ended up leaving for dinner. Came back. Things were cleaned up but not fixed. The rains began again. One time came back to find housekeeping had left the door unlocked. A different room was not offered. And the $50 they took off our bill did not compensate us for all the discomfort and not being able to use the facilities we ended up paying for. We really got screwed with this stay with a hotel that has great potential for its location. They advertise newly renovated. Ha! Hate to have seen it before the improvements. Beware!

Great location on the beach. Friendly staff, nice room, clean pool, Great Place.

Just got home today from my vacation. This is a great place to stay! This place is a very good value and is located in the heart of the beach area. It is close to Pier 60, the marina, fine Dining, and of course the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A very nice Continental Breakfast. You should spend the extra money and get a pool or ocean view room or suite. Hotel is newly painted and has been somewhat updated. Great sunset and ocean view from the pool area on the 2nd floor. No need to have a car to get around. Let the hotel arrange transportation to and from the airport and use the Jolly Trolley to get around. We will be back!
