Schulte's Lodge, Lake Placid

The booking process seems a little odd, but our reservation was fine. The family that owns this place is very nice and will try to get you anything you need (even a couple tlbs of butter). The cabins are rustic, but have everything you need. We stayed here for Ironman Lake Placid with another family and had a great time. we stayed in cabin "Oak 2" which has 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, kitchen and dinner area. The kitchen is small and we wish there would have been a living room area, but the front porch served as that for us. The pool was great for the kids and the location to town was great. For Ironman the course passes by 5/6 times. The biggest parts we found were to be disappointing was that we were told there was a full fridge and it was small and if it's hot you'd better hop you have a fan or two. Other than that can't complain. It was VERY reasonably priced for that weekend especially. We fit 4 adults and 4 children into this cabin. The only times it seems tight were while cooking dinner.

Nice family atmosphere, however you may not be fortunate enough to have your reservation honored when you arrive. Several times I have been bumped and/or assigned different lodging other than the one reserved. Been there several times hoping it would get better, but it only got worse. I thought it just happened to other people. It is sad.but it finally sunk in....We will not go back!

I love this place because of its uniqueness.The owners and the family of are really nice people and add to the whole experience. It has all you need at half the price of the other places in LP. above all else this hotel has a family owned character that exceeds the rest.

Clean rooms, frigid pool which was great after a hike, and reasonable price. Only problem is- they may forget your reservation and bump you. I have had this happen in the past and listened to a very annoyed gentleman in the parking lot saying that he had just been bumped as we were leaving.

Overcharged twice for a one night stay. No amenities at all better locations that are cheaper try Northwoods Inn
