Longhouse Lodge Motel, Watkins Glen

The Longhouse lodge is our most favorite place to stay in Watkins Glen. We have been going there for MANY yrs. (22 plus). & have tried every pother place around. There is NO comparasion & we ALWAYS regret staying elsewhere & we ALWAYS come back to our most FAVORITE place, The Longhouse Lode...NEVER to stray again! We love the rm., the rocking chairs & the clean heated pol, not to mention the surroundings & the continetail breakfast. In the summer we stay at the mpotel, in the fall we stay up at the Manor house & have recommended it to many of our friends along the way. Can"t wait to go back, EVERY year! TS, Bflo, NY

The place seemed fine, but when I called to cancel or even transfer my reservation, the owner would not have it and had a MAJOR attitude. I had a friend who wanted to take over my reservation and this would be seamless for the owner, but he disrespectfully refused. I caution anyone thinking about staying here, definitely not a fan.

Five of my friends and I got together for a "ladies weekend out" to celebrate our birthdays. We had 3 rooms and stay'd 2 nights.The rooms were clean, up-to-date and the beds were comfortable. We had 2 double beds and a mini refridgerator. I would suggest a microwave oven. We had a continental breakfast that consisted of mini donuts, bagels, english muffins, juice, coffee, and tea. We came back during the day to lay out by the pool which was clear and relaxing. They have a nice large gazebo and had a grill to cook on. The staff was pleasant. I would definitely go there again. Wow!! I read the February review and almost changed my mind about coming back to the Motel. I am so glad I didn't! It was just as enjoyable and beautiful as it had ever been. The room was clean and cozy. The landscaping was beautifully decorated with flowers and I sat in one of the rocking chairs relaxing while enjoying the view of Seneca Lake. I was very happy to see George is still there!!!! As far as the rest of my stay, the staff was responsive to my needs, the view was breathtaking, and the room exactly what I expected. I just wish I could have stayed longer, but I'll be back again in the Fall!!!

We had stayed at several other motels in the area in the years prior and none of them could even begin to compare to the Longhouse. Their staff are friendly and helpful in all aspects. They have beautiful rooms and the views are remarkable! In the evening all of the people came out of their rooms at the motel and sat in the hand-built beautiful gazibo and had cocktails and watched the moon-light glistening on the lake. George - the Longhouse cat - was also very eager to see that we were all enjoying ourselves while we sipped our Chardonnay's and Reislings from the wine tour we had embarked on earlier. It is just a wonderful and lovely place to stay!!!

We stayed in the Longhouse Bed and Breakfast up on the hill behind the motel. The view was wonderful, even though we did go too late for the peak of the fall folliage. The room was emaculate and the Great Room and Game Room were huge and very up to date. We stayed in one of the jacuzzi rooms on the top floor. It was definately an oasis. With the kind and courteous staff, clean conditions and all the little extra perks, we are definately planning another trip to wine country and I wouldn't take a chance on staying anywhere else.

My experience at the Longhouse Lodge Manor was one that I intend on repeating for years to come. I stayed in Room 2 which was spotless from floor to ceiling. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. There was stunning views from the moment I arrived. There is a beautiful sitting room overlooking a stunning great room w/ a grand fireplace. Top of the line ammenities , Wonderful breakfast, All I could say was WOW. I will be back.

Had paid ahead of time for the room. When I arrived, I found the room's smell to be toxic-perhaps from various chemical cleaners. I gagged. Then I immediately asked for a refund, and was refused. Since then, I have attempted to get a refund or even credit(which I would use for a stay at the Longhouse Manor), and have repeatedly been refused. I have advised my friends to avoid this place, because once they have your name on the dotted line, they own your money regardless of even if you stay there,(which I did not and could not), or the room is satisfactory(which it was far from being in my case).

My family has gone to watkins Glen and stayed at the Longehouse Lodge for at least 10 years. We come back and saty because the owners are so frendily and the rooms are very nice. For an even better stay with out going to the Manor House...is renting thier Cottage. But hurry, the cottage is usually booked for a year in advance.
