Blue Ridge Motel, Schroon Lake

The room was big enough for two adults and two dogs, flies still living in the room, now November, beds were the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in! Way to far from the beach, WON'T BE GOING BACK!

The place was shabby and overpriced. We paid $89 with the AAA discount. The beds were horrible, stains on the carpeting and blinds that didn't work. We should have seen the above reviews before we stayed here. We had no hot water and no water pressure. We were not told of any continental breakfast. There were quite a few families there with many children. They let the children run wild to after midnight. Slamming doors hollering and screaming. We found ourselves screaming at these people to stop being so rude and inconsiderate. We threaten to call the police and only then did the parents finally tell their children to stop. The management did nothing to stop this. They also have a donkey that makes noise at night and early in the morning. We did not sleep at all. It was so upsetting to be in a place where everyone was running wild and no one cared. This was the worst place we ever stayed in!

I liked this motel it is awesome!!I saw my friend there. I would totally recommend this motel.

This is a very nice motel with all the touches - thick towels, coffee pot, microwave, free popcorn, DirectTV, Refrigerator, free breakfast and reasonably clean and tidy rooms. For the price it cannot be beat. My wife & I frequent this motel because it is only a 20 minute drive to the high peaks & keene valley. A 90 minute drive from Albany makes this an easy ride on a Friday evening to be ready for Saturday hiking. Also recommended are Drake's restaraunt for dinner and the Mount Severance Country Store for sandwiches for the hike.

OVERRATED!!! Expensive and Shabby. Pretty run down. Positive reviews have got to be posted by owners or friends. Friends of the proprietors (several cars/vans) also hung out there until late into the night. Use with caution! Better choices available that are actually close to the lake.

Hummingbirds right outside my room, feeding on the most beautiful petunia hanging baskets I've ever seen! Excellent room coffee which I sipped in my adirondack chair to the sounds of loons... Thought it couldn't get any better - but it did!! Luscious home-made pastries, fresh cantaloupe, and great conversations with new friends! We WILL be back!!!

We booked this motel after reading the pros however we did not find it as such.When we entered an odor hit us as did many black stains on the rug. Things were very antiquated but clean.We did not expect fancy due to the location but for $80.00 per nite (with aaa disc.) it was very overpriced.Slats on blinds broken so they didn't close properly, bed hard as a rock, sink cracked ,faucets turned off backwards in shower so I was nearly scalded when I thought I was lowering the temp.There was no dresser only a desk with 3 small drawers so nowhere to put clothes. Sun am bed was quickly made ,trash emptied and new towels brought but sink was not cleaned nor was the rug vacumed. Comp. breakfast was 1 store bought coffeecake ,fresh melon ,3 kinds of juice ,coffee ,tea and several elderly apples. I would of checked out but in the booklet in the room it stated that no refunds would be given for any reason.Next time I will pay $40.00 extra and stay in one of the many lovely B&B in the area as we were were surely taken!!!!!

Large, clean rooms with all the touhes of home. The absolute best continental breakfast we've ever had at a motel: home-made pastries, fresh melon, and the presentation was fantastic!

The proximity to the high peaks brought me here, the special treatment and special touches will bring me back. The room had many nice surprises: the filled candy jar, fresh flowers, first class towels, and a nice hot shower! My cell phone didn't work here, and there are no phones in the room (aww, sorry boss!). There is a phone available to the guests, so I could check in with "my other boss". I did bring my lap-top, and to my surprise there was free wireless internet access. The heated pool and wonderful homemade pastries at breakfast rounded out a great visit. The refrigerator, microwave (with popcorn!) in the room were also welcome. Highly recommended!!

I had the best night's sleep in years! Truely a serene location - out in the country away from town where the interstate whizzes by. The amenities in the room compared to the finest hotels. TV options were limited - but we didn't come to the mountains to watch TV!!
