Northway Motel, Lake Placid

This is the perfect place to stay in when vistitng Lake Placid if you don't want to spend a lot of money. The room was clean, spacious for a family of four, and comfortable. The walk in to town was easy, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The place has a cozy charm to it which we prefer over the typical chain hotel/motel. The best part was sitting out under a shady tree in the adirondack chairs enjoying the fantastic view of the mountains.

I am a seasoned traveler with thousands of miles under my heels. This was the most cozy Motel I've ever experienced in the USA. The rooms were clean, bathrooms remodeled and the bed was just like home. The off season rate was very resonable with a friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommended!

Very nice place, the view was great...here's the best part: I left my Sonic toothbrush in my room, the owner contacted my friend who booked it and told him to call him and he would mail it out to me. Within 5 days it was in my mailbox!!! That's customer service!!!

Located in town near the intersection of routes 86 and 73, this motel is very conveniently located, with just a short walk to the Olympic Center and the main strip. Rooms are homey and inviting as well as clean, with a separate room including two single beds. Good water pressure in the shower and a nice pool. As an added bonus, across the road is a convenience store with the largest selection of beer in town, including several microbrews, as well as a pot of "hyper bean" coffee guaranteed to jump start a day that is impossible to not enjoy in the stunningly beautiful mountain town of Lake Placid. The only minor drawback was the bed was a double instead of a queen

We loved the room we had, as it was spacious, and the location was great. We had a terrific view of the mountains, and we could sit on our deck and watch the world go by. It was clean, quiet, and the people who work there are very helpful. I would definitely stay there again..

I stayed at the Northway Motel in the fall of '06 and was delighted with my room, the very reasonable price and the friendliness of the owners. I am returning this summer!!

Great location for just about anything. Convience store across the street and fine food places all around within walking distance. Nice little porches to set back and relax! Nice, really nice!
