Affordable luxury in Boston
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/8/08
When our family of four was visiting Boston last fall, we quickly discovered that all the downtown hotels were way out of our price range. We needed a suite so that my teenage daughter could have her privacy, and a kitchen so we wouldn't have to eat out for every meal. Location was important: we wanted to be close to the major highways, with shopping and fine dining nearby. And as always we were looking for good quality beds and most of all QUIET. Finding all this at an affordable rate in this area isn't easy, but it is possible. Lakeview Motor Lodge has all this, and more. This is a sterling example of a classic American mom-and-pop motel, well maintained and nicely decorated. Our suite was basically an apartment, with a sofabed in the living room, a full kitchen and a bedroom in back with two double beds. Although located directly off a busy street, our room was very quiet, no traffic noise whatsoever. When we spent the day sight-seeing in Boston, we left the car at the motel and walked across the street to the train station. In less than an hour we were downtown, without the hassle of driving and parking in the city. There is a Super Stop n Shop within walking distance, and several fine restaurants in the immediate area. The best feature of all at Lakeview is the level of service you receive from the owners, Ron and Brenda, and their professional staff. They understand the meaning of the word "hospitality", making their guests feel welcome and helping to make their motel a true home away from home. We give Lakeview Motor Lodge our highest recommendation.
