Lacks Customer Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/14/08
Room was Ok . View was great. Toilet would not flush and the manager on duty told us he is only responsible for the Restaurant . Awful situation they put us in ! If it were not for this incident we would have stayed

Managers Don't Listen to Customers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/13/08
What is so wrong with Managers listening to customers ? We had a small issue and instead of addressing it the Manager just rolled his eyes at me and walked away. The lock on our door was broken and we wanted another room , or to have the lock repaired. They did not address our complaint but instead avoided us and put us down when we tried to be firm about the issue. We left. They charged our credit card anyway and we filed a dispute against the charges with the credit card company. This matter could have been easily fixed. Things break and we understand. We do not understand a management team that will not listen to customers. Our request was reasonable. Why should we have a room with a broken lock ?

Service is the problem
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/07/08
This place has the material things. Its a great location. The management or lack of management is the problem. The Crows Nest is not well operated. Slow to respond and takes a very long time to be waited upon. The food is hurried and not prepared with ordinary care. Its like kindergarten with no adults. Very disorganized . Very Frustrating for customers like us.

Three Word Summary...
By Peter, 06/04/07
Fun, fun, fun. (Referring to the restaurant/pub--I haven't stayed in the hotel part, but I would. There is no better view on the shoreline than Madison.)

What a difference a year makes
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/30/07
We stayed here last year and thought the place was great but in desperate need of some repairs. We returned early this season to find many of the repairs completed. The building had been painted, the grounds cleaned and the rooms greatly enhanced. Brand new cotton sheets, comfortable feather pillows, new towels and better bath products. The overall experience was fantastic. This place is starting to live up to its location. The restaurant has also been enhanced. The menu includes many of the old standards but the chef has added some fantastic new dishes like the seared tuna with wakami salad. Delicious!!!. They also finally got proper deck furniture for the outside dining. What a view!!

Great Family Escape
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/06
I was a little worried because of a previous review. No Need, the Madison Hotel was just what we wanted. Yes it is an older hotel, yes it is not a modern express motel, But who cares! We spent the weekend with kids and our dog and it was great!! The staff was very nice, the restaurant food was delicious and the location is perfect. Right out the door is a small private beach bordered on one side by the town pier and the other side by a residential private beach. We went swimming, watched the fishermen on the rocks and played with our dog on the beach. Madison is a quaint, quiet coastal town... A perfect weekend getaway.

There marketing paid off but it lies...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/05
You have to remember it's an OLD, OLD, OLD building that is in much need of repair. The room was real small, dingy, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall, the rain poured into our room thru the front door and the building needs up keep. The pictures they show on their website are beautiful and nothing like the hotel. We were suppose to be there a week and checked out after 2 days. I would not go back there again. They charge $90.00 a night and for the same rate you and go down the street a miles and stay at a new chain motel. We did.
